…oh wait I forgot they let their Offensive Coordinator go, whatever that is.
That's another really cringe thing about this ownership/management.
"offensive coordinator"
"hitting strategy director"
"assistant hitting director"
Lmfao. It's freaking baseball, dudes. Getting cute and implementing NFL style titles for the staff while having the worst offense in the league makes them look like pretentious derps.

Loved Lou
One of my favorite quotes was during . well one of the later seasons, while up to the mound talking to the pitcher...
Lou: I need you to throw strikes
Pitcher: I'm trying
Lou: Son, I can get a truck driver to try.

LOL

It's pathetic and comical at the same time. What kinda pisses me off is that 38k fans went to watch this POS team. I mean, people can flush their money down the crapper all they want, but Stanton and Co won't change a thing if clueless folks keep buying tickets, so we're stuck with this ownership group.

no effing clue how they get these attendance #s
it's shame people show up, IMO.

Sure, they want to enjoy a nice day day/night with family & friends, the ballpark and watch baseball.

But it reinforces to ownership that their approach is working. It's a business to them.

Went to the game, probably my last one of the season. I honestly don't care what they do the rest of the way. Buy or sell, it's the Mariners. This team will never seriously compete for anything. The Sonics will win a championship before the Mariners do.

If we get swept tomorrow Servais and Dipoto should be gone. Inexcusable at this point.
I would jettison some players before I'd cut ties with Servais.

I'm currently on the fence about Dipoto.

Dipoto has had 8 years now to put together a competitive team? He has failed. He's hamstrung by a cheap ownership group, so I don't put all the blame on him. Servais, imo, is just a guy. Ownership has to change hands, period. They will not spend money to improve this team, at least not enough to make a difference. I do NOT want to see this team leave the city, but if they did, I wouldn't shed a tear. I'm hoping someone(s) steps up and makes an offer to Stanton and Co that they cannot pass up. Anyone would be better than these clowns at running a competitive baseball team.

The Sonics already did in 79 and now they are the Thunder.
RIP Sonics and **** the NBA.

How is it we do a pretty good job of limiting the HR damage from Alvarez, Bregperson, and Altuve, only to always give them up to Meyers and Peña?

Nice to see the offense actually play well for a change. A lot of quality contact from the bats today.

Servais says Julio's ankle was negative in xrays, so hopefully, not too long. Might run an MRI for soft tissue damage. He walked off the field with minimal help, so maybe not too bad.

Well, they pulled it off. Nice to see them adding runs later in the game. So many times this year they have scored a couple of runs early, then went silent while the other guys inch their way back into it. That's how we trash our starters' quality starts. We have to be leading the lead in 'quality losses.'

Hopefully they can do this some more.
