One we've waiting for, with apprehension and/or hope.

Probables:

Fri: Hunter Brown RHP (7-6, 4.39 ERA, 105 SO) vs Luis Castilllo RHP (8-9, 3.53 ERA, 116 SO)

Sat: Framber Valdez LHP (8-5, 3.66 ERA, 82 SO) vs George Kirby RHP (7-7, 3.29 ERA, 116 SO)

Sun: Ronel Blanco RHP (9-4, 2.56 ERA, 100 SO) vs Brian Woo RHP (3-1, 2.45 ERA, 29 SO)

Friday morning and two of my primary sources don't have the M's pitchers yet. 🤷‍♂️

Edit: Added Castillo, not seeing the others yet. Finished.

I've heard our starters vs. Houston will be Castillo - Kirby - Woo

If true, that means Gilbert is NOT starting this series, arguably the most important 3-game series we've had all year. And he's well-rested. Our ace. ... I don't get it. Start him tomorrow, 5-day's rest. Or Sunday, on 6 day's rest.

Gilbert leads the majors in innings pitched. Resting his arm isn't a bad decision, but this is the freaking Astros. Rest him against the White Sox next week. Again, if true, I don't understand Servais' decision to rest Logan during the single most important series of the season so far.

I’ll wager a 6 pack of favorite canned beverage to anyone that wants to take the bet.
Astros win series.

This article is from back at the end of May, but it's a good read and gives some great insight into why the pitching staff is managed the way it is. Far, far, more factors go into these decisions than most fans realize. Given that, and given the fact that Logan leads all of MLB in innings pitched (and by a large margin over every other starting pitcher but 2), if they think Logan needs a couple extra days rest at this point, I'm good with that.

As it says in that article, the M's are prioritizing starter and health and productiveness above all else, which they damn well should since this team doesn't have much hope without dominant starting pitching, IMO.

Castillo was such a waste of prospects. Those should have gone to aquire Soto

Same old pathetic offense picking up right where they left off before the break. A super early 3 run deficit is insurmountable for this team.

Over the All Star break A-Rod basically said Lou would send down most of the line up. That's how sweet Lou was. He was the Gordon Ramsey of baseball. If you sucked he would let you know.

Yet was Rated 5th worst of all time for a manager for WAR. He did less with more. So does he send his own butt down?

Love Lou but acting like he was a God is a joke.

This team is falling apart though. Heads will roll. Just not the right one. You ask for a 5 star meal with a $3.00 budget, dont be mad at the cook.

I never made that kind of comparison that's ridiculous. Lou would have done what most would do.....doesn't take a genius.

Well, I was a couple days off, but the Astros are in first and the M's won't sniff 1st or a playoff spot this year. Wish they'd just sell the team. This ownership group will NEVER win anything. They'll just keep shoving bobbleheads down peoples throats. I'm so glad I don't give this team a dime. F them

I have no doubt Lou would've been super pissed and would've done a whole lot of screaming in players faces, but he wouldn't have sent most of the lineup down, because you can't really do that. You still have to have enough players to field a team.

Lou probably would have said something along the lines of, "I don't care how good the starting pitching is, you can't give me a team this bad and expect me to be able to win with it", and he probably would've quit by now.

I’ll stand by my initial prediction of 83-79, 3rd in the division. 10 games up, to this in two weeks. 0 runs scored again yesterday with no sign of any sort of course correction or effort to improve…

If I did these same things in my career as a leader, I would have been terminated 3 times since April by now.
