To use a Holmgren quote, has it? The dude has done more than any GM in Seahawks history but every GM story comes to an end at some point.

I am hearing it's the D's fault, the O's fault and even the coaching...but is it? Maybe it's the guy who assembled this elite O-line/D-line.

There is plenty of blame to go around and I sure don't have the answers, it was just a thought I had.

Has the game passed him by?

I wonder if Schneider goes, does Mac go as well?

Schneider has not pieced together a top 10 offensive line for years and years and years now.

You would think he would rethink his strategy for offensive line but I haven’t seen anything different…

First it was Bevell, then Cable, then Norton, then Russ, then Waldron, then Pete, now Schneider? Is there anyone left?

I keep hearing from the media what a great GM he is, but I'm really not seeing it. Sure, there are some great individual pieces but every team has that. He has failed us year after year with the O line. Consistently one of the very worst in the league. RW3 was the first scapegoat, then Pete. John might be at the end of his rope.

I'm high out of mind and lazy right now, but does anyone know: what our highest end of the year oline ranking was in the past 7 or 8 years, what was the ranking, and what year was it?

Schneider has bought himself 2 seasons with MM. This is game 6 of season 1. This does not mean I have faith, I’m just saying this is patience to wait and see. If there’s a big picture coming together in the end or not.

I would say, he likes using high draft picks on backup running backs #3 receivers and improbable 1sts. In the past as we all know, Trading down into the depth of mediocrity in hopes of finding a gem.. some worked, most I don't think really did.

No , I don't believe so. I think you're trying to place blame .

Somewhere, anywhere .

It's human nature to do this . We try and make sense of things . Is it the coach ? The players ? Is it the GM?

That's all we have . Also we're not privy to the inside information.

This team hasn't had an identity ever since Unger was traded away for Jimmy Graham.

So not really sure what the JS vision is as far as roster construction, for it hasn't materialized.

Contrast with John Lynch. They acquire players that match their scheme, and who they want to be.

VS a random hodgepodge approach to roster construction.

For example, drafted pass blocking o-line on the outside, run-blocking o-line on the inside. Still can't run the ball on the inside. Highly paid receivers with pass happy coaches, but also highly drafted RBs. It's just confusing on what JS wants this team to be.

Ans to thread question: No!

Does the team still have problems with the O and the D? Ans: Yes

1. they can't stop the run
2. they can't rush the passer
3. They can't run the ball
4. they can't protect the passer.
5. they are still not tackling well.

I do think JS player evaluation is flawed, or at the very least unrealized.

What gets me is JS was suppose to be a QB guy. Always looking at QBs in the draft, should take a flier on a QB every year yet that has never been a thing. RW was the obvious success but in his tenure they team has drafted only 3 QBs?

He’s really into high character. Being a born leader traits. That’s all fine and good but does that mean he’d take an average player with high character over a phenomenal player with an attitude? If the team has leaders don’t you take risk on the talent because what is a team full of leaders?

Also there were his comments on the OLine. Says guards are over paid or drafted too high and look at the line now. Arguably one of the worst and definitely contributed to this three game slide.

Maybe JS is too sure of himself and I’d rather get a hungry new GM and keep trying with Macdonald at this point.
