JS has an entirely different partner who is looking for different things than Pete was. This was the first (partial) offseason that they've worked together and Macdonald probably didn't have a great handle on who was on the team as JS was preparing for the draft.

Macdonald and the other coaches will have lot more to say this offseason about the team needs. We'll see how Schneider addresses those needs.

No , I don't believe so. I think you're trying to place blame .

Somewhere, anywhere .

It's human nature to do this . We try and make sense of things . Is it the coach ? The players ? Is it the GM?

That's all we have . Also we're not privy to the inside information.
However, we are privy to what's on the field, and the Seahawks continue to have the same issues despite changing coaches and schemes. The offensive line is still bad, and the defense still can't stop the run despite completely revamping the middle of the field and D-line.

I wonder who much effort Schneider put into throwing Pete under the bus to get total control

I do think JS player evaluation is flawed, or at the very least unrealized.

What gets me is JS was suppose to be a QB guy. Always looking at QBs in the draft, should take a flier on a QB every year yet that has never been a thing. RW was the obvious success but in his tenure they team has drafted only 3 QBs?

He’s really into high character. Being a born leader traits. That’s all fine and good but does that mean he’d take an average player with high character over a phenomenal player with an attitude? If the team has leaders don’t you take risk on the talent because what is a team full of leaders?

Also there were his comments on the OLine. Says guards are over paid or drafted too high and look at the line now. Arguably one of the worst and definitely contributed to this three game slide.

Maybe JS is too sure of himself and I’d rather get a hungry new GM and keep trying with Macdonald at this point.
Character. Right. That must be why we don't have Jalen Carter and instead we got Jamal Adams the cornerback version.
