Stats and the arguments that ensue are funny things. Stats feel like they should be objective simply because they are numerical in nature. Numbers don't lie right? But take QBR for example, a stat developed better assess a QB's total "value". By the numbers alone as a hard metric, Geno is ranked 13th and Mahomes is ranked 16th. But good lord..... Joe Flacco is 4th & Andy Dalton is 9th. There are just too many variables and nuances to actual game play that numerically can't be REALLY used as a predictive model of value or success. Each team's record is also completely out of line with QBR stats and many others. Mid level QB's have super bowl rings and a few of the most talented to ever sling it didn't. It's a team game with a myriad of nearly infinite variables week to week, game to game, season to season that depends on human beings that have other problems, get sick, sometimes hate their job, and sometimes love it. Personally, that's why I just focus on having a good beer, good food, and living in the moments of madness with passion as a fan. It's any given Sunday and a roller coaster of emotion and that's what I love about it. It only matters who is better for 4 quarters at a time.
