He was catching balls all over the place from Wilson on wednesday.

Looks like he is taking pointers from the right guy.

Seriously doubt he makes much of a dent in 2013, but a fun prospect to keep an eye on for future seasons. If nothing else, Harper has that unusual mix of size/bulk for the WR position at 6-1 and 230+ pounds. He's built more like a RB, but seems to have strong hands and good ball skills on the perimeter, which will serve him well at the Split End position. Again, I expect him to make the 53, but don't expect him to be active for most games. I view him as a longer term prospect who is still learning the nuances of the WR position as a converted college QB (his HS position and his early position at Oregon before transferring to KSU). Once he gets a handle on the route trees, how to 'stem', his footwork, etc. the sky is the limit. Interesting athlete, but an immensely raw WR right now.

I think he will be groomed to take over/compete for Tates spot next season if we can't afford to keep him around.

That makes a lot of sense, but all bets are off with Pete. We're talking about a coach that starts a rookie guard that was converted from a college D lineman. All it takes is a couple of receivers getting dinged up and there he'll be, albeit in a limited role, but this coaching staff is very good at putting players in position to succeed. It wouldn't surprise me to see him activated, but I'd be equally unsurprised to see him not be.

I disagree, I think he is being groomed to take over Rice's spot.

I think Rice has injury/longevity concerns, his contract won't help him, Im guessing they resign Tate after this year....but for less then they pay Rice. The result of them signing Tate is Rice gets cut. I also think Tate outperforms Rice this year.

:les:

LOTS of debate about him in the DRAFT Forum.

I feel like Carroll/Schneider found a gem....others felt he wasn't the best option. Time will tell.
