It is ok....My Birthday mojo got us the win. Had some issues there that are all on me...but what the hey? We won. Also made some Seahawk Fans happy by giving away some items they probably could not get. Again, it was a win and I had some fun.

Now, if I can get rid of the throat grunge I got from the waitress that brought it with her to the restaurant I had breakfast in, I would be happy. Will do a write up later.

We ate their snacks....he he he. :irishdrinkers: :irishdrinkers: :irishdrinkers:

I had more confidence in Carson punching it in or taking a field goal attempt..but chancing an interception twice...really??

You make a valid point. Go smashmouth. It makes the D feel like they've been dominated. We are developing a legit run game that should allow us to do that more and more.

Plus, RW has trouble seeing over the O-Line and on short yardage that deficiency is magnified.

GO HAWKS!

He's thrown 2 career INT's inside the opponent 10 yard line. So yes a chance of an INT, but not any more than the chance of a fumble so I kinda discount that. And he threw 2 TD passes that sequence. Doug not dragging the foot and Vannett having half a foot out is really not on Russ. Arguing the play calling is fine, but let's be factual.

Carson got stopped at the one. Or did you miss that play?

They were at the 2, he took it to the 1/2-yard line. Law of averages says that he punches in the ball in his next attempt.

That is .... just not true. At all. Or how math works in any way, shape or form.

Sure I wanted them to run it as well. But, teams do stack the box all the time. There is no guarantee he would have scored on a running play.

Two extremely close near TDs. Baldwin uncharacteristically stepping out of bounds. The other a penalty for catching the ball after being out of bounds. On the whole, the red zone play calling has been astoundingly good. Even with those missed opportunities, the Seahawks are still scoring TDs on a whopping 74% of their red zone trips.

But good job finding something to complain about.

This is an excellent post. We are killing it in the Red Zone this season. This one was a narrow miss. I don't mind that they went for it. With a big lead we gambled a bit. We will see a mix of run and pass while close to the goal line this year. It's probably a strength that we are not too predictable in different situations. Great win!

The first problem with this category of criticism is that it relies on hindsight. It's not an accident that you are complaining about the play calling on the single TD we didn't get instead of on the three other passing TDs we did get. Those passes could have been great decisions with 90% likelihood of success, and yet sometimes good decisions do not work out due to simple randomness. Whenever criticism is isolated to things that didn't work it's a red flag that outcomes are being judged instead of the process.

The second and larger problem is that I haven't seen a single mention about what the opposing defense was doing at the time. We can all agree that defensive alignments and coverage hugely impact the likelihood of certain offensive plays working. Good play calling has to take the opposing defense into account, and great play calling takes advantage of the weaknesses inherent with whatever the defense is doing.

And look at some of those completions, those guys were being covered like a blanket. The confidence and focus from Russ is next level with these guys. Detroit wasn't exactly just leaving guys wide open.

Wilson could have thrown an interception, or Carson could have fumbled it at the one. I mean, even Beastmode has had enough fumbles on the goal line to make a short highlight reel out of it.

Right about everything before the word "but" though. Good game.

It reminds me of a pass play on the 1yd line in a super bowl...bad things happen when you get greedy in those situations...sorry...forgive me ...I didn't know there were still Bevel fans in here...my bad...

What part reminded you of the Super Bowl play? That they were passes?
