The link I provided NEVER said the number of Packer fans at the 96 game.... So where did you get that number in relation to the King Dome and 1996?
This isn't that difficult.

You've been claiming you took over the kingdome which means you think you had more fans there than we did. That's not true and it's not even close to true.
What is your definition of taking over a stadium? When Favre throws a touchdown and the crowd erupts that's not taking over the stadium? Fans still remembering all the Green and Gold in the crowd 20 years later? Please....

It's quite simple math... 60,000 in attendance and you said Packer fans outnumbered Seahawk fans. That would mean that there were at least 30,000 Packer fans in attendance.
He's a product of the Wisconsin education system. Forgive his relative lack of math skills.

Well, he didn't say the Seahawk fans were outnumbered, he quoted a fabricated story that they were.

I remember the game well because it was the SB season of 1996. The whole crowd out there was Packer fans, it was all over Wi newspapers..

I gave you more credit than I should have. You said WHOLE CROWD.
An auxilary tone.....

Can I quote a fabricated story that says I'm a billionaire, and go start spending like one?

Also, Ptisme, please figure out how to quote properly. I know it's hard. ;)

I think you are confusing travelling well with taking over a stadium. Congrats. You travel well. So do we.

They travel well because median-IQ-and-higher Wisconsinites move to other parts of the country after reaching adulthood, so they're scattered throughout the U.S. in easy reach of other NFL stadiums.

Ok, I'll lay off now before I get a spanking. Unless it's Mizzou that's going to do it, in which case I'll step it up.

Lambeau got taken over by invisible men and women in the 80's. Fans still remembering all the invisible people in the crowd 30 years later? Please...

Wow...HUNDREDS of cheese heads... Quote from linked article: A pro-Green Bay crowd of 59,973, with hundreds of Packer fans wearing cheeseheads, provided the Kingdome's first sellout of the season and those fans saw what they wanted.

You have an average town and a decent team. You should be kind of proud. Good night.

Attendance figures down for a team whose owner was doing everything in his power to make the team so awful that attendance would be down so he could justify a move to Los Angeles...whoddathunkit? Seattle's fans are smart to not throw their money away on an inferior product.

The Seahawks were averaging around 40,000 per game, so there were quite a few Packer fans there, but nowhere close to outnumbering the Seahawks fans. What exactly does this have to do with anything from THIS century? How about both games that Green Bay played in Seattle last year? There were Packer fans at both games and you know what? They got to watch the better team win...both times. You know what all those season ticket holders in Green Bay are going to see in week 2 of this coming season? The same outcome with the Seahawks STILL being the better team. I see that there are over a thousand seats available for that game too. I doubt many Seahawk fans will be in attendance because NOBODY wants to waste vacation time to go to Wisconsin, unless they really want to see their fair share of cheese museums.

Packer fans throw their money into their season tickets and then when the team sucks, they just don't go to the games. That makes no sense and is why there was absolutely nothing done with the awful Packer teams of the 70's and 80's. Lambeau made it's money anyway, so why put a good product on the field? Packer fans are dumb enough to believe that they actually own a part of the Packers when they give the Packers hundreds of dollars for a piece of paper.

We could argue fandom forever without either side ever giving up or giving in to the other side. We love our team, you love yours. I enjoy being on the side I am because I get to irritate the living hell out of people to the point that they have no argument and just resort to calling me names like a pre school child.

Hey folks, let's be sure to attack the post and not the poster.

Calling people stupid, a dummy, a dolt, a poo-poo-head, or a meany, will not be tolerated. And telling your mom on them is a bannable offense.

Y'all be nice, or there will be no Fritos and kool-aid for anyone.

I mean it.

I lived in Marshall, a tiny town east of Madison. First (and only) fast food joint they got was a Jimmy John's when I was in junior high. I left to move back to Seattle when I was 17.

So I was right, you were very young and left the State of WI before you were even an adult. Eating fast food, hanging at malls and bowling, attending the fair and doing all those little kid activities. But small towns or villages aren't for everyone. I see the appeal of larger cities, especially since I've been to quite a few of them. I would never live in certain places, but that doesn't mean I would go around and insult them or all the people that live there.

But fans from other teams going to Green Bay go to watch their team play and there is plenty to do outside of the stadium before and after the game so your comments about people not travelling to WI to watch their team play are really invalid. The point that was being made is that you will never see opposing teams overrunning Lambeau field because there are just way too many Packer fans that attend these games. Our stadiums have been packed even through the dark days and losing seasons, unlike a lot of teams.

On the contrary, you will find a lot more Packer fans in opposing stadiums because we have such a huge fan base. We'll travel all over to see the team play and a lot of WI residents retire to warmer climates which extends our base. Another amazing phenomenon is something called "Packer bars". Go to another city and start asking where you can watch a Packer game and chances are good that so many Packer fans already live there, that they have set up a bar where they air all of the games.

The other amazing thing is I talk to so many other fans in opposing stadiums and so many come up to me and say "Lambeau must be amazing, I have to get there someday and watch my team play." Of course, in Green Bay, the football atmosphere is electric and fans from opposing teams are welcomed in and even invited to tailgate. I can't tell you how many times we saw opposing teams fans wandering around and we invited them into our tent for a beer and to wish them good luck against our team and for the rest of the year.

I'm sorry you hated Wisconsin and all the people there, but the football culture is just amazing and an atmosphere unlike most other places. It's called the "The Shrine" for a reason.

BTW, I have been Rainer. It's nice. It's not as great as hiking up Fuji or Kilimanjaro but then comparing those regions of the world makes about as much sense as comparing Seattle to Green Bay. Packer fans don't travel to Seattle to hike the forest or climb Rainer, they go to see the game.

Ha...right down the street from me in Culver City is the Socal Seahawkers at the Backstage where every year we get ex Seahawks to come and watch games with us and do charity work. I met Mrs. Sherman there along with Dave Kreig, Chris Warren, John. L. Williams, and even Sherman himself.
