I lived in Marshall, a tiny town east of Madison. First (and only) fast food joint they got was a Jimmy John's when I was in junior high. I left to move back to Seattle when I was 17.
So I was right, you were very young and left the State of WI before you were even an adult. Eating fast food, hanging at malls and bowling, attending the fair and doing all those little kid activities. But small towns or villages aren't for everyone. I see the appeal of larger cities, especially since I've been to quite a few of them. I would never live in certain places, but that doesn't mean I would go around and insult them or all the people that live there.
But fans from other teams going to Green Bay go to watch their team play and there is plenty to do outside of the stadium before and after the game so your comments about people not travelling to WI to watch their team play are really invalid. The point that was being made is that you will never see opposing teams overrunning Lambeau field because there are just way too many Packer fans that attend these games. Our stadiums have been packed even through the dark days and losing seasons, unlike a lot of teams.
On the contrary, you will find a lot more Packer fans in opposing stadiums because we have such a huge fan base. We'll travel all over to see the team play and a lot of WI residents retire to warmer climates which extends our base. Another amazing phenomenon is something called "Packer bars". Go to another city and start asking where you can watch a Packer game and chances are good that so many Packer fans already live there, that they have set up a bar where they air all of the games.
The other amazing thing is I talk to so many other fans in opposing stadiums and so many come up to me and say "Lambeau must be amazing, I have to get there someday and watch my team play." Of course, in Green Bay, the football atmosphere is electric and fans from opposing teams are welcomed in and even invited to tailgate. I can't tell you how many times we saw opposing teams fans wandering around and we invited them into our tent for a beer and to wish them good luck against our team and for the rest of the year.
I'm sorry you hated Wisconsin and all the people there, but the football culture is just amazing and an atmosphere unlike most other places. It's called the "The Shrine" for a reason.
BTW, I have been Rainer. It's nice. It's not as great as hiking up Fuji or Kilimanjaro but then comparing those regions of the world makes about as much sense as comparing Seattle to Green Bay. Packer fans don't travel to Seattle to hike the forest or climb Rainer, they go to see the game.
