Our previous D had become predictable enough that opposing Offenses could create situations where they knew, or suspected, a slow LB or DL would be in coverage. Discipline before the snap is going to make or break these situations. It simply didn't work under Pete. Plenty of things did work over the years, but disguising coverage never did because there wasn't enough pre-snap discipline.
