Geno won this. But Grubb was a big piece of it too.
This. Did anyone note that last week the pass game wasn't working so we adjusted at half and ran it down their throat? Today, the run game wasn't working so we threw it 44 times...

I like the idea that we're going to use the right tools for the job. And I can guarantee Grubb hasn't even got all his sub-packages in. Whatever the opposing defense decides to take away is fine, because we'll be well prepared to feast on whatever they're giving away.

Man…I think I said something odd (at the time) about Geno being Top 7 this year.

With his comeback win record and just his plain-simple mechanics, we may have a Top 3 QB.

Not trying to jinx it here but…I truly love this dude. Definition of perseverance.

I’m ready to pay this man and lock him down for 3-4 more.

This has been the truth about him for a while. When watching Geno Smith from the perspective of scouting him, it is apparent that he is fundamentally and technically a prototype quarterback.

He sees the field. His throwing motion is almost perfect. His fundamental aptitude makes it so that he can put power, touch, and accuracy on the ball as needed from multiple launch angles or even while on the run. His previous biggest weakness, which was timing and pocket navigation, has turned into a strength.

He throws with anticipation. He can accurately judge tight windows. He has the God given arm talent to hit said tight windows better than all but maybe 5 quarterbacks in the league.

Anyone watching Geno Smith with the goal of scouting him and not just confirming their priors has been at this point for a while. All of the film dudes on Twitter, all of the former QBs who do video breakdowns, all of the coaches who have to talk about Geno and all of the coaches who've come in and seen what Geno is capable of... they're unanimous.

Geno Smith made Travis Kelce quit playing quarterback just by throwing the ball in front of him. He has that type of natural ability. It hadn't come together for him before. After 2022, there was no excuse left to hate on him. It perplexes me.

What we saw today was an elite performance in every way. What I have seen for the better part of 2 years is good-to-elite play that has been mostly betrayed by the rest of the team.

Geno was excellent. But the TEAM won the game. He was just likely the biggest reason they won. But no, it wasn't just Geno who won that game. He led them to the win. But it took everyone.

Now he's not yet the guy because he's not throwing 4 TDs a game?

What makes you think he cant throw 4 in a game? He tossed 3 easily against the cowboys last year.
Oh I don't know, maybe the fact he has yet to ever do it? There will be do or die moments in the playoffs where he will have to put the team on his back and score a td in the red zone for us to win. Can he? Absolutely. Will he? That's the 64 million question. He has yet to prove that he can take that next step in the playoffs. Until he does, color me skeptical, and I hope he proves me wrong.

Damn, people literally giving Geno sh** about something before it actually happens. Tough crowd. (And yes, I used to be in that crowd)
IF he doesn't win in the playoffs this year, blast away. Until then, he's locked in. I've always thought he couldn't do it. Now? My mind has changed. He can def. win a playoff game, imo. Deep in the playoffs? Maybe. But I sure look forward to finding out.

Yes, I'm not saying he can't, I'm just saying that he hasn't shown yet that he can. Hopefully this is the season.

Can we at least wait until we see how he does in the playoffs? Is that asking so much?

Nothing wrong with his opinion. No way in hell is he a top 3 QB. Maybe around 10-12, and that's damn good.
NO extension until after the season. Make him earn it, which he has so far.
