No, I'm just a seahawks fan. Not a Pete Carrol fan or a Geno fan. I root for the Seahawks. Most definitely do not root for the Raiders. That's like rooting for San Fran. No thanks.
No I didn’t. You can be a hater for other reasons. With Russ claiming he was trash while he was here, had nothing to do with their success etc yeah you’re a hater.

Try again I guess?
Never said everyone who doesn't support them is a hater. Not the case for everyone at all, but there are certainly people who seemed to have a lot of disdain for Geno and even Pete at the end. Never said it was everyone.

Looks like Seattle was willing to do 45mil a year. Geno wanted 55 to stay in Seattle. He didn’t like the team la direction. Also never like playing in Seattle.

The 3rd round pick seems low, but really Geno had a bunch of leverage considering the roster bonus that was coming up. Once JS saw his only remaining option was to keep Geno at his current cap hit he made a business decision. I would have rather kept Geno another year but I also applaud any player who understands his leverage and uses it.
It was the Raiders with the leverage, with a lack of competition. I'm surprised they were willing, as a cut was probably the only other choice besides keeping him for 44 this year (and disgruntled).

I look at it as he is mid 30's, he may not fit Kubiaks system, his salary would be hard to work around and build the rest of the team, looks like we are looking at a 3 year window as the plan from the other signings to do something.

Is geno gonna make the playoffs next year in Vegas? But I don’t know if the hawks will either. Will the hawks win more games next year?
Probably not in the that division, but I'll be watching them for sure.

Pete said recently that he's learned a lot in his year off, so for me, his redemption arc is on. For Geno, he made a lot of boneheaded plays for us, but he also made some great ones. His redemption arc continues as well.

I would not be surprised if their offense under Kelly is better than our offense this coming season.

If Geno was so good, why were we always playing behind the chains?

Third and seven, third and eight, third and nine became the norm... not the exception.

Letting Geno go was necessary based on the business side of the NFL. He was up for a pricy extension... and the ROI on that investment was neutral at best... more likely negative after another year of mediocrity. Letting him go just HAD to happen.

I can accept that.

Not for long, expect some interesting additions at WR a position that lately has become very expensive.

The team was mired in middle ground mediocrity and has talent enough at many positions to be a whole lot better. Geno just wasn’t worth what he wanted and while he may move LV from the bottom of their Div he’s at best a mid level QB.

It was time for a real shake up. It’s happening.

I for one am happy with the pick rec'd, the cap relief, and look forward to the changes which will arrive soon. Keep the faith Bro, I predict the changes will be good.

In Howell we trust, JSN better butter up to Howell right now.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. There will be a QB or two added to the roster and the winner or the one thought to be strongest will get the job, JS liked Howell but that doesn't mean we won't see another QB starting for the team this season.

Geno was 15th in Passing EPA over his 53 starts. He was an average QB as 15th suggests. That’s not a bad thing at all and with how his career started it’s actually sort of amazing he was able to do that so many years in.

But having said that it shows why it was smart to make the tough decision and go another direction.

Reports are that they offered him $40 mil for two years and he wanted out. Wow. $40 mil for a mid qb at best who has never won a playoff game and had nearly as many int's as td's until the last game of the season? If true, that doesn't give me much confidence in the front office. Wild.
