If Thurmond goes I'd like to see Verner come in (not sure what money he's after). We seem to draft for the secondary so probably a non starter from that POV although we did make a play for Winfield.

Anyone else see anyone they would like? Anyone decent from the Vikings?

Verner is going to ask for (and get) big money. I highly doubt we are going to get into that bidding contest.

I just want us to keep our crucials FAs this year and the next one.

Easy to bring back:
Tarvaris Jackson, QB
Michael Robinson, FB
Anthony McCoy, TE
Chris Maragos, S
Steven Hauschka, K

Tough decisions (do we need them and/or can we sign them back?):
Golden Tate, WR
Michael Bennett, DE
Tony McDaniel, DT
Clinton McDonald, DT
Breno Giacomini, OL
Paul McQuistan, OL

If we are able to keep every player we want/need then we don't really need to check FAs market.

Ted Ginn Jr. has always intrigued me. Especially when he was on the Niners. Just amazing visual Speed. I have seen a lot of fast guys but not many that made me say "wow he fast"! Would be shocked if Carolina doesn't re-sign him.

We need to bring back Bennett he was huge for us this season. I would release Clem to resign Bennett in a heart beat,

Bennett has been huge, it will depend on him.

He made a great name for himself in FA by his production this year, so doe he want to turn that into the biggest payday possible no matter what, or does he want to continue playing championship football?

I think he will be offered more elsewhere as we have a lot of people to pay, but good money + Seahawk football might be better than huge money + bad football. It will come down to what he wants.

Either way, more that happy to have him this year and would love to see him in a Seahawk jersey next year.

Holy crap, Sean Locklear is still in the league ?

I like our FA's more than anything else out there honestly. Bennett, McDaniel and McDonald are the huge ones.

I like Tate but he's totally disappeared at the end of the season. Shouldn't be that difficult to resign.

We really need to keep Bennett. I know it's been said, but dang.

If money were no option, of the list I saw, I'd start with:
Alex Mack at Center over Unger. Yea, Unger's good but Mack is so much more physical.
Michael Oher or Jordan Gross at RT. Gross is getting old, so I might just be going off of name recognition, and Breno has been pretty solid for us really. I don't remember a lot of guys blowing us up coming over RT when he was in there.

Funny, but the reality is that I'm more excited to see what this team will do in the draft than looking at FA's. Drafting is cheaper and I'm fascinated by player development. An example would be: yea, if price were no option, Alterraun Verner would be a big addition to our secondary (plus his name is freakin cool). But seriously, Maxwell graded out damn near as well this year and he's started less than a year's worth of games. He's playing better than Desmond Trufant in his first year, who was drafted in the 1st round and has NFL bloodlines (Trufant has played well, but not Max-well).

So how good is Maxwell going to get ? That's what excites me. Browner was one of my favorite Seahawks but Maxwell doesn't have me missing him.

I agree that the draft is more exciting, just wondered if there was anyone out there that might come in and be difference makers like Bennett and Avril.

What the hell? Why are we starting threads about next year when we're in the damn Super Bowl!

Do you guys realize that we get to enjoy something other fanbases have NEVER enjoyed in their lifetimes! NEVER! Now delete this and take a lap!

We won't really have cap room to sign anyone from another team for much more than the veteran minimum.

We're currently roughly $2mm to $3mm under the expected cap. There are a number of potential cuts/restructures to provide more cap room:

Rice - $7.3mm cap savings if cut
Miller - $5.0mm cap savings if cut
Avril - $7.0mm cap savings if cut
Clemons - $7.5mm cap savings if cut

Even if we were to cut or restructure all of them, though, the cap room created would mostly go to signing draft picks and resigning some of our 19 free agents.

How many times do you want to rehash all the same discussions prior to the Super Bowl? There is no reason that both can't be discussed.

You can be sure that Schneider is already planning out offseason moves.

I want to rehash them exactly 4,098,338 times. I want these two weeks to puncture the space time continuum and remain in suspended animation for all of time so I never have to not bask in the glow of my beloved football team being in the greatest sporting event in our nation!

Speaking of the vikings how about Jared Allen? Seems like a real possibility. Got the Percy connection, and he's a vet who's probably sick of playing for Crap teams, could really see him taking a discount to come play for us.

Someone has to be the first and the timing of this is crap, really can't we think about the Superbowl for two weeks before a off season of what is sure to be heartbreak, outrage, and then new hope.
