For those who say Wilson doesn't throw inside the pocket...

Yet we will continue to hear and read otherwise.

A similar observation to the premise of Sando's article, supported by facts, was made several weeks ago.

Just can't remember who it was that wrote about it.

No doubt we will still hear it. I didn't know that the majority of his TDs came within the pocket (22TD). That's impressive!

Really? Who is actually claiming that he can't have success in the pocket? Maybe there are some "national analysts", but not that I've heard, and most people who follow the Hawks at all, can see with their eyes how well Wilson is. I really haven't heard any talk of him being weaker in the pocket since early in the season, when play calling was limiting him.

The mediots have been hollering all year about how he isn't a pocket passer, and as shown here, they're dead wrong. They'll keep hollering about it though, because unlike pocket passer statues, Wilson can also run.

I'll guess we are talking "ESPN mediots" here? I have kind of passed on ESPN and spend more time on the NFL network anymore. They still have some "out there" opinions, but the shows there seem to have some balance, and they are guaranteed to be always talking football.

That's all I hear. From fans, and analysts. That's why I made the comment in the OP.

I wasn't questioning whether you've heard it, just saying that I haven't been hearing it much at all recently. Of course I don't watch ESPN much at all anymore, and most of the guys I've heard have given RW plenty of props for his throwing ability without really mentioning the pocket one way or the other. As far as fans are concerned, something I know for certain is that if ESPN is saying it, there are plenty of fans who will parrot it like it's the gospel. The Hail Mary catch is a perfect example. You cannot convince people who haven't even seen the play that it was a catch, because ESPN says it wasn't.

Truth. I always point people to that coldhardfacts site and it blows minds!
