All for trading DK, not interested in making Howell our starting QB.
Nobody is interested in that, it's just one sensitive poster being allowed to keep spreading disinformation about what others are saying. All for trading DK, not interested in making Howell our starting QB.
I advise you to look up how his performance measures up historically through age 27.My general assessment of him for *years* has been that he is overrated and gets hyped about his potential instead of his performance.
I believe you just won the internet today.Come on...
Some of you with your reactionary exaggerations using terms like "team cancer" & "vehement dislike" because someone feels Metcalf is valuable enough to trade and improve the team.
This is a business/team opinion based on what will improve this team and some of us may not think an increase to DK's cap hit is worth the production. Especially when it sacrifices resources for the offensive line which is the core problem to start with.
DK has lost 8 fumbles in his career, the most of any WR since he entered the league. Losing to the NYG's at home was our worst defensive performance of the year but his fumble near the red zone later resulting in a NY TD didn't help. He was also fined for unnecessary roughness in that game rounding out a 4 catch, 55 yard effort.
He is such an enigma of Hero/Goat and can be more of a chess piece than a weapon.
Since 2019, no reciever is more penalized than DK's 31, including 10 holding & 10 for PI. Over his career he has been fined 13 times for 170K.
DK had 5 TD's (992 yds) in 24' and made 24.5M and had less TD's than 33 other WR's and is statistically ranked around 30th amongst all WR's.
Metcalf is currently the 13th highest paid WR at 24M per, the top 3 are 32M- 35M.
I do not want to pay Metcalf at that level and think a draft pick and 10M cap savings would go a long way in fixing the offensive line & upgrades in general.
How about lower the temperature with the "you must hate DK" BS and have a conversation.
When you have your career, your reputation and your future earning potential on the line. Your decision-making process is different from shouting in a forum. I also doubt that Schneider has the luxury of going Option (2), although Macdonald might prefer (2).Not that you're wrong, but I can't picture them going option 2.
For one, I don't believe Schneider's recent performance has earned him the opportunity to oversee an option 2 more than a decade since he last fielded an excellent team. He would be fully aware that that path risks his job. Schneider being replaced by a new GM would misalign the GM/HC , putting Macdonald in a perilous spot.
Jayden is the only force in the NFC that I think is going to be a huge problem for opponents to overcome over the coming years; but I don't think the Hawks are necessarily wrong if they think that if they *improve the oline, get some semblance of an OC better than the Waldron/Grubb level, and the *defense takes further steps forward, that they can contend in the conference.
*I have sincere doubts about Schneider's ability to fix the line
*That defensive step forward needs to include not getting lit up by the good teams on the schedule; which wasn't the case this past season. Until then I am only cautiously optimistic.
