Loosens the grip of an early game's demise.
Anybody see this at .com and does anyone think the new age Seahawks can buck this perennial trend of road woes?:
" Sunday's game kicks off at 1 p.m. in Charlotte, which makes it a 10 a.m. start in Seattle. And the Seahawks had better get used to playing early -body time, at least - because they're also scheduled for early kickoffs against the Texans in Houston (Week 4), Colts in Indianapolis (Week 5), Falcons in Atlanta (Week 10) and Giants in New Jersey (Week 15).
These early kickoffs have haunted the Seahawks through their first 37 seasons, but this season coach Pete Carroll took steps to prepare the team by practicing at 10 a.m. during training camp.
"I think it's going to be a great thing for us, just because we've been practicing at 10 o'clock," quarterback Russell Wilson said. "I think that is something that's real."
In their first three seasons under Carroll, the Seahawks have won in Chicago (three times) and also at the Giants in 10 a.m. starts. But they've also lost seven times - at St. Louis, Detroit and Miami last season; at Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Dallas in 2011; and at St. Louis in 2010.
But this team is better than those teams, and should be better prepared for the early starts.
"You have to make sure you're getting your sleep and getting your rest," Wilson said. "Coach Carroll and Sam (Ramsden, the team's director of health and player performance) have done a tremendous job of talking to us about that - getting our hydration, getting our sleep. Making sure that we're prepared, because we're going to have a lot of those games.
"At the end of the day, though, if we're ready mentally, it doesn't really matter when we play or what time we play. We'll be ready to play and make sure that we try to bring our 'A' game."
