Manitoba DT David Onyemata is another athletic DT that is worth keeping an eye on during the draft. He was the best DT in Canada college football, so he was a big fish in a little pond. He flashes good initial quickness, which he cemented with a 1.66 10-yard split. He is very raw, but he has the tools to be a disruptive 3-tech DT or another DT-to-OG conversion for Coach Cable. Seahawks had a scout at Onyemata's Pro Day, so he is on the Seahawks radar.
His Pro Day stats:
- 6-3 300 lbs.
- 33 inch vertical
- 9'11" broad jump
- 33 reps on the bench press
= 98.8 weight adjusted TEF
- 4.69 shuttle
- 7.25 3-cone
- 5.07 40-yard
- 1.66 10- yard split: This is an elite 10-yard split for a DT, better than Rankins, Hargrave, Nkemdiche.
- eyeballing his arm length I'd estimate 34 or 35 inch arm length
He has a very good weight adjusted TEF. Onyemata also has an elite 10-yard split, with very good agility #'s, which are not taken into account in the TEF.
