People are blaming the refs, who admittedly had a lousy game. But for me that is not the definitive reason why the Seahawks lost.

- The offense went completely to sleep in the second half. Marshawn Lynch rushed just five times after half time, despite regularly gashing the Colts earlier. While Andrew Luck led touchdown drives of 86 and 80 yards, the Seahawks couldn’t respond and had to settle for punts and field goals.

- Third down was a nightmare all day and is becoming a concern. On offense they converted 2/12 (16%) and defensively they struggled to get a stop.

- Russell Wilson missed on two throws he needed to hit for touchdowns — one to Golden Tate before half time and another to Sidney Rice after the break. Yet in the second half, too often the receivers failed to make a play for Wilson. We need to see more from the passing game. It’s properly clicked in only one game so far — against the worst team in the NFL.

- Andrew Luck was sensational and deserved to win this game.

- At times the Seahawks were a disorganised mess. They wasted all three second half time outs, one because they had twelve men on the field and another because they failed to get ready for a two point conversion. They then gave up the two pointer anyway. Stuff like that gets you beat.

- Whether it was a lack of pass rush or issues in coverage, the Seahawks couldn’t get a handle on defense. Richard Sherman had a rare off day, but so did the rest of the secondary. Up front we saw the usual dose of pressure early on but it quickly went flat. Seattle has a good defense, but the reason they aren’t the best is because they’ll have days like this.

So yeah, the refs having a bad day played a part. But only as much as everything else listed above.

Arguably consistently bad refereeing gets into the heads of players WAY more than the opposition.

It shouldn't, but it's also a factor... cuz they second guess how they play.

That's why sucky one-way refereeing is so bad.

In every game, a team makes mistakes that can "cost them the game". Pefect games are rarely played

When something preventable (terrible refs) plays a significant role in your loss, you are going to feel frustrated. Fans rightly have a beef. PI calls should NEVER be that one sided, I dont care where the game is played.

Very valid points Rob...one thing that shouldn't go unnoticed, most of us double as UW fans and had to watch an absolute joke officiating last night. Tough not to get pissed when you watch 2 days in a row of drive changing calls.

there's a lot of blame to go around, officials were definitely part of it though. Their PI calls took the wind out of the LOB

'Twas the weekend for Seattle football teams to be screwed by refs.

The passing game needs to be more consistent. The defense gave up to many plays , and there some very bad calls.

Interview with Tate right now, and he is NOT happy about the refs during this game. He sounds pissed.

Very disappointed to see some blaming officiating. I thought it was a great game between two very good teams. Refs blew some calls, but it was definitely both ways. Indy WRs were consistently mugged and the strip fumble was a clear personal foul and should not have been a turnover. Refs were definitely inconstant on downfield contact, but there were bad calls both ways and the only turnover went against Indy. I respect the hell out of the Seattle team, but this is disappointing from the (some) fans.

Indy was mugging WR's 2, it didn't go both ways. Still refs aside we should've won, also have to tip my cap to luck

The sack, fumble wasn't a big missed call then?

Rob, did you just criticize playcalling in the 2nd half? Didn't you blast anyone that ripped Bevell last year?

I agree, just saying, "welcome".

Sherman has actually had three off games in a row, Houston pick-6 aside.

Not really, exactly, kinda sorta.

He's been given room to make plays and take risks. And, it's paid off with INT's.

can't blame the refs, the colts played well enough to win.

That being said there were bad calls and they all went against us. It's just a fact, not an excuse. I just hate knowing that. Even if you make an argument for every other call in the game that offensive PI on tate was completely non-existent and it's completely unfathomable how you even make that call.
