I listen almost everyday to B & S followed by B & G and then KC.

Even though he claims to have been in Seattle for 22 years, I ask "does the Groz actually like the Hawks?" Now you may think this a rhetorical question but unless it is just me I just get this common downer from him that he is always down on the Hawks when I listen to the daily banter.

He never seems to be upbeat about them. He seems to be constantly examining what is wrong with them and why they are not a good team. Negative Nelly.

Are you hearing the same things? I have gotten to the point where I dont even want to listen to Kiro from 12 to 3 any more. Am I alone or are others feeling the same.

Yup he is a true blue cow-pies fan. I don't like him at all. I don't like a lot about that show.
I don't mind Brock and Salk, but I don't really buy Salk being pro Hawks either. He claims to be a Miami fan but I think he is more NE then he lets on.

It seems to me that Seattle sports radio should actually hire people who are fans of SEATTLE sports. Kinda like Softie but less annoying. Even Elise is a Broncos fan for gods sake.

Tony Ventrela has a Yankees hat in his office btw.

Whatever I still listen and sometimes go on air. I think they could do better.

Time to get rid of Groz. Sounds half asleep most of the time.

Ian Furness grew up in Magnolia I think, anyway his dad was once a local weatherman or something...so he is also a local boy.

Brock and Salk are a bit more homerish and view the Seahawks either as the greatest thing since sliced bread or chicken littles depending on whether or not the Hawks are coming off a win.

Bob and Groz are a bit more objective. Face it, the Hawks are 7-9 the past two seasons. They are more realistic and objective in their view of the Hawks.

Groz IS a Seahawk fan and an old school Cowboys fan, and doesn't make any secrets about it. However, he is NOT a homer.

Personally i think the shows balance eachother out. I love both. Love Jim Moore as well, even if he is a Coug.

She is? I've never heard her saying anything about that.
Not true.

Also, Groz was a TV sportscaster in Sacramento during the 49ers heydays. But, he doesn't, to me, seem like a Seahawks hater. He's just not a homer.

No. He is a Cowboys fan. That's why I hate him

You give him way too much credit. He is beyond that of just an ordinary Cowboys fan, he is a rabid Cowboys fan.

Groz is lame, and thinks he's some sports legend around here. He's about 5 years past his prime, if not more.

Groz has always been a Cowboy's fan. Sadly it's an incurable disease.

I've always found his Seahawks analysis to be balanced, just pretty thin. He's happy to defer to experts. It's his job to be a personality, not an analyst.

Put it this way --- if I had to choose between 100 years of groz talk, and 5 minutes of idiot homer Mahler, I'd pick groz every time.

Um dude, you're confusing Mike Salk of 710 with Mitch Levy of 950.

Salk is from Boston and a Pats fan. He doesn't hide it at all. He talks about growing up in Boston and being a Pats fan all the time. He's taken a liking to the Hawks during his 3 years here.

Mitch is the Miami fan. He's from there. He doesn't hide being a Dolphins fan either. But he's lived here for over 20 years now and the Hawks are solidly his 2nd team, and sometimes rival the Dolphins.

I'm not sure what you expect from these radio guys. The reason they're from all over the country (and is the case in most cities) is because they are the best at their jobs. Sports radio would suck if it was only the top people to come from your own city.

I really appreciate an outsider perspective on our teams. Salks calls the Mariners on their BS, because he's seen first hand just how a team should be run with the Red Sox. It's good to have a mix of hometown and outside views. Could you imagine if it was nothing for Softy types? Good god, kill me now.

As for Groz, his being a Cowboy fan has little to do with his attitude towards the Hawks. He's covered sports in this city for decades. He plays the role of "realist". Which when it comes to Seattle sports generally leans towards pessimism. And 99% of the time ends up being the right angle, sadly.

Groz has an annoying voice/personality, first of all.

He is definitely NOT a Seahawks fan, maybe that's a plus maybe it's a minus for you.

However, when Groz says he hates the 49ers you know that's truth, because of his ties to the cowboys.

Groz is a cowboys fan who loves the hawks.
don't ktnow where all the hate is coming from here, these guys have differeing opinioins on some aspects of our team but are all loving these guys like us.
groz shares almost identical views as john clayton.
i don't think anyone here is gonna call clayton a hater.

even mike "sage priest of wilsonism" Salk points out flaws with the seahawks and calls outs players and coaches on the team from time to time.

groz is a cool guy who just likes to have a nice drink every now and then.

Groz is terrible. I was so glad when he left KJR. Definitely a Cowboys fan.

I'm a fan of the KJR hosts, in particular Mitch Levy, and including Hugh Millen. Seems like that puts me in the minority here.

Brock and Salk are OK, but I prefer Softy's passion and like that he takes a lot of calls.

I agree I listen to John but he has been very critical of PC and his move to start RW. (and many other decisions over the last couple of years. he just says it in a passive aggresive way so most dont realize he is bitch slapping)

He has a nack of trying to sound so terribly important and knowledgable but he uses slight of hand to say stuff and as it changes he morfs his position to make it look like he was always there.

Example he was very vocal that FLYNN MUST START early in the season and was all over not giving enough snaps and even now is a LUCK lover and is short people biased.

He smells which way the winds of the national consenses is blowing and that becomes his position. He still continues to call it the "Failed Mary" because he realizes most of the Nation still dont want to believe it was a catch even with evidence because it doesnt comply with the national narrative.
