Mind you this 30 a game is on franchise mode, I won't dare go online, unless it was to beat Blitzer's ass.

4th and 18 on your own 25 yard line. What play do you call?

WRONG. You shouldn't be in 4th and 18 in the first place.

First drive of the game, Breno got a holding call and DB dropped a pass.
I was hoping for a big passing play cause well, in RW we trust. Bevell punts in that situation.

Last season all the read-option QBs were tearing the league a new one, just destroying teams. That isn't at all what has happened this year. Let's exclude RGIII for a moment because of his injury, but it makes me wonder if the OCs who looked so brilliant last year (Roman, Bevell), aren't nearly as good as they appeared, but were riding the crest of a wave that was destined to peter out a bit the next year as the league figured out how to stop that style of play. Now the OCs appear as mere mortals without answers when injuries come a-knockin'.

I don't think we're going to be seeing 50-burgers anytime soon, even when the line gets healthy, unless it's against total trash teams (or the Niners at Century Link). Come to think of it, the 50 burgers last year were against exactly that. Trash teams, and the Niners at the Clink.

Bevell wasn't the source of that offense last year, Russell and Beast Mode were. And they will the source of our offense this year if we can keep Russell alive.

Edit: Not saying fire Bevell or that Bevell is the worst in the league. Just saying he's nothing special, and not the reason for last year's offensive explosion.

damn it, and I should also trust my defense.

I'm totally not coaching material.

If you check this link you can do the math for yourself.

http://regressing.deadspin.com/infograp ... 1456613857

Then, if you believe that we have an above average TB and above average QB, as well as above average receivers....you can look at the #s and see if you feel that our production is adequate given the injuries to the OL and the quality of opponents we have faced thus far. Is he getting the production he should from what should be considered above average offensive resources?

My interpretation is that Bevell is average. Not terrible, not great and probably not even above average. Maybe even slightly below, which is probably masked by the quality of some of our players and a QB that tends to do well when improvising.

The other question is how much of the success is Lynch and how much is him putting Lynch in a position to be successful? Those are all subjective, but I think the numbers combined with the quality of our players probably suggest we don't get an advantage because of the OC in a lot of matchups. Is this a situation where clearly better players will overcome?

I think part of problem is we expected the offense to be so much better because we expected certain pieces (QB and WR) to improve/increase effectiveness this year. So even when winning, we are comparing it to the latter half of last year when at times the offense looked unstoppable. Not sure how fair that is either - because we were VERY stoppable vs Washington and Atlanta until the latter half of both of those games. So maybe we were just extrapolating off of some peaks.

I think Lynch has made both Cable and Bevell look better than they are, and so has Russell.

Any back but Lynch and we get tons more drives stalled because of TFL and the QB facing 2nd or 3rd and forever.

This is why I think they're keeping Michael the heck out of the game (besides possible pass block shortcomings). Michael needs a hole, Beast Mode doesn't always.

I can only think of one thing to say about the original post and its quality.

Don't forget to fall back with your clocks saturday night.

Yeah I'm not the biggest Bradley fan out there but he didn't have much to work with last year, relatively, in terms of pass rushers.
