Cutting off a route is a penalty?

So a defender gets in front of a receiver to make him change his route a bit and it's a penalty?

Was it called against a New England opponent? If so, then it's a penalty.

It is what the Bronco bitched about us doing to them in the SB..No matter we beat them again anyway..

No see it's a foul if the defender cuts off the offensive guy in Denver but if the receivers are blocking the defender while the pass is in the air that's an example of an outstanding offense. The same rules just to be clear do not apply to the other team even if playing in Denver. Also incompletions on third down will be rewarded by the defense drawing a yellow hanky and a automatic first down given up. That they are rewarded the chance to stay on the field and play until the Bronco's score.
