Seems to be a lot of hate for the dude on this forum. I don't think that is the general feeling among the general fandom. Me...I remember the guy strapping it on for SB IL when he was very banged up and battled like a gladiator. That's how I want to remember him; not based on a single bad moment when he was emotional and did something uncharacteristic. I certainly don't want to be remembered for my worst moment.

I understand the NFL is a business and business decisions were made. Many greats finish out their career at a place other than the place where they earned their greatness. Earl, Sherm and Kam...Seahawk greats forever. LOB!!!!

Well said brother! All this butthurt woman scorn fans need to just let it go. He was a warrior for us & never sat out any games. Wish the best for him, just not this Sunday!

Earl was my second favorite player. Just didn't appreciate the way he acted, especially towards Carroll. But, after they are retired, I'll celebrate Sherm AND Earl, all time great Hawks.

I want to see Lockett or DK burn him, and then flip him off on the way to the end zone. I'd gladly accept the 15-yard penalty.

I don't even hate Earl, I just think it would be funny.

I just hope Russ' familiarity with Earl bears more fruit than Earl's familiarity with Russ.

I suspect Russ won't be running too much this week.

I just want the W, and hopefully he'll have a long sad flight home. On a side note, when they asked Pete about Earl and him flipping the bird etc. he said "I'm gonna' love him anyway"
One of these things is not like the other...…..

Really, pull your head out of your butthurt. He flipped not just Pete but the whole team off. You are responsible for your actions ALWAYS. Do I hate Earl? NO. Is he a jerk for doing what he did? YES. Show some class. It amazes me how so much of the younger generation excuses things so easy. :177692: Just a old guys opinion

And if it's another team, the same people would be bashing the guy. But if it's a Hawk player, it's ok to act the way Earl and Sherm did???

Pete is an extremely class individual, ET, not so much, the exact opposite. Money and talent don't equal class.

Oh grow up man...Its just a middle finger for god sake. Im sure there has been worse things said to players to other players/coaches.

Earl said he flipped off Pete not his teammates.

“I don’t regret my decision,” Thomas told ESPN in an interview published on Wednesday. “If my teammates felt like it was toward them, I regret that part. But I don’t regret doing that to Pete.”

His action was right when he broke his leg. All he wanted was a guarantee contract or just trade him to team that wanted him. They didn't do that, instead he balled out but ended up having his worst fear, season /career ending injury. It was frustrating and angry and just heartbreaking for everyone.

Given that 2019 Earl Thomas is in a different system, I'm looking forward to seeing how the Ravens utilize him. Should be different.

I think he's starting to regret his actions. He let everyone know by his actions in Dallas, that he didn't want to be here anymore, unless he got a buttload of money. But Dallas wouldn't cough up the draft capital, they wanted him on the cheap. Which tells me that they didn't value him very much.

And Dallas had their own worries with upcoming contracts on Dak, Zeke, Amari Cooper, and Jaylon Smith. They didn't want a high-priced free agent that would cost them draft capital too.

How does having three Linebackers or even a 3 - 4 defense phase out a free safety ? we still use a free safety.

I can only assume Earl was referring to spending the money on linebackers instead of defensive backs. Money was his preoccupation at the time.

How do you know who he was flipping off. I wish I knew half of the F’ed up crap you did in your life in your worst moments so I could judge you on just those things. A “classy” person like yourself should know forgiveness is a virtue while your continued wrath is a vice.

Earl said he flipped off Pete.

That said, I'm still mad he begged the Cowboys to come get him.

Pretty sure I haven't seen Earl lighting up the highlight reel this season other than the shot that knocked out the Steelers backup QB. This is 2019 Earl, not 2014 Earl. Not. At. All. Worried.

Now Jackson? Yeah, we had better clamp down on that young man or there will be problems.

The best highlight Earl was in this year is Chubb's long TD, when Earl pulled up short so he didn't pull a hammy.
