The first Seahawk to wear #14 was punter Rick Tuten. He entered the league in 1988 as an undrafted free agent. He played for seven teams in the NFL but his time with the Seahawks was his longest with any team. He was a Seahawk from 1991-1997. Sadly he died in 2017 while on vacation with his wife in Costa Rica.

The first Seahawk to wear #13 was QB Gino Torretta. He was a 1993 7th round pick of the Vikings. He is a 1992 Heisman Trophy winner. He played for the Seahawks from 1996-1997. He played for six NFL teams but was never a regular starter.

Foley wasn't a notable player...but reminds me of the mediocre QB carousel between Kreig and Hass that plagued the hawks through the 90's.

Some would say Kreig to Kitna (I had high appreciation for Jon and always wondered "what if" had Holmie supported him better)...but Kitna was still a middling QB until the walrus let him go.

Hass to Wilson (sans Tavaris at the helm for 1 year) was a good run for QB. Would love to see Darnold do the same (and/or Milroe down the line).

A major key to our defensive improvement last season

Not sure I remember a recent FA add that had as big of an impact on the field and in leadership. Loved him tearing into Hall last year for the boneheaded late hit.

Avril and Bennett come to mind further back. I'm probably missing someone...but Jones addition cannot be understated.

Sam Adkins was the first Seahawk to wear #12. Adkins was a 10th round selection of the Seahawks in the 1977 draft and played for them from 1977-1982 as a backup quarterback to Jim Zorn and is the only member of the Seahawks to be assigned the number 12. However, I did find that Zorn also wore #12 as a replacement jersey on October 14,1979 when his was damaged. He took Adkins jersey. This was new information for me. I either never paid attention to this or completely forgot.

In 1984, the number was retired honor of the Seahawks fans.

The first Seahawk to wear #11 was QB Bruce Mathison. He was originally a 1983 10th round pick of the Chargers.
He was signed by the Seahawks as a replacement player during the 1987 strike shortened season.
I almost didn’t include him in this because he was a replacement player. But he was the first to wear 11 during a game regardless of the circumstances.

That’s why I chose this image of him. It kind of defines the whole strike/scabs/replacement debacle.
