5 Things From My Perspective:
#1: I'm glad Clinton McDonald is back. He's not a huge play-maker but he has been a sturdy role-player the last two years. The thing that has impressed me most about McD, is his physique, he's the Sweezy of the D-line.
#2: It almost seemed that the Seahawks were keeping Michael Person until they were 100% certain with Michael Bowie on his injury. Once Bowie returned and got a couple of practices, Person was cut. That's why when we signed Davis, Person wasn't the first guy to go.
#3: Something inside of me wants to say letting Allaan Bradford go was mutually exclusive on both the player and the team. Bradford has a lot of raw ability but needs reps, and opportunity, something he wasn't going to get with the Seahawks. Both parties have been relatively quiet and Bradford doesn't seem to throwing any parting shots. Honestly, I would like to see Bradford become a starter in the NFL, I would root for him, unfortunately it won't be with the Seahawks unless its a couple years down the road. This also allows Heath Farwell to earn some of contract and 55 has shown some recent play-making ability.
#4: Back to Bowie. I think the Seahawks are serious about him being the future at RT. That is why they didn't I.R. It would be cool to see him bookend with Okung since they were college teammates. If the Seahawks can garden Bowie's potential, Seahawks will have a dirt cheap option for several years and wouldn't have to waste resources patching up holes.
#5: Down the road this season, I would like to see the Seahawks allow Bailey to compete at RG. In 2014, I could imagine a dominating O-line of Okung-Carpenter-Unger-Bailey-Bowie with Sweezy getting Tom Cable versatility upgrades to back-up 4 or 5 spots plus some TE. Sweezy has the athleticism, and I think working all spots would make him a better player from perspective.
