We never never never had a pass rush on the road last year. The entire game I just luxuriated in all of the pressure we were getting and what a huge difference it made in being able to notch a road win. Our secondary would have held the line probably without all the pressure, but with the pressure it was just a completely unfair contest. The Cards would get to our side of the field and then they'd get sacked for a million yards.
That one series where we sent a LB (Smith?) up the middle on 2nd to nail Palmer, and then the next play Clem bullrushed the tackle so hard that the tackle fell into Palmer and basically knocked him over, I was just sitting there in awe. Our secondary must be thinking they've died and gone to heaven. On BB's interception I think Palmer was getting pressure right in his face and had to unload it, it just gives such an advantage to a secondary that really doesn't need any extra advantages.
As fans we all say "we have to get a pass rush" but we said that about Holmgren's teams for years and years and never came close to what JS has done with a measly 2 offseasons. Drafted Irvin who notched 8 sacks, said eh we need even more so move Irvin to LB and acquired about every stud inside and outside rusher on the planet, on or off the radar of other GMs.
