What would it take? Is it worth it?

Not going to lie here…Travis Hunter makes me moist. In a bro, 100% heterosexual way. But…moist.

I’m bored…but, I find it interesting that they’re entertaining offers.

Yep, this was brought up in the Shedeur Sanders thread. There's a rumor that the Niners are trying to move up to get Abdul Carter. That would really piss me off. For us to move up from 18, the cost would simply be too much. It would definitely require our first round pick next year as well. I'm sure John's not willing to go there. Can't say I blame him.

Agreed. The cost would be way too steep.

Unless Carter or Hunter are far superior to whatever you have to give up, which would be a lot, then you don't make this trade. Makes no sense to move up. I like both players but Carter isn't a generational talent and neither is Hunter (sure he can play both sides of the ball but that's not sustainable over the course of his career.)

1745430579954Just to give you a rough idea what it would take to move to 2nd. No way in hell would I do that for what's there. There's not a single player in this whole draft worth that move up. All 10 of our picks only come out to 646 which isn't enough. This isn't the end all be all trade chart, but again, just a rough idea what it would cost for that.

Yeah, there's some fantasy football thinking flying around this time of year. Hey, we're a 10-7 team with some holes to fill. Let's relax and concentrate on realistic thinking. With #18 and 4 more in the top 100 I think we'll get some studs.

I wouldn't be pissed if it was an expensive failure. Giving up three first rounders for someone who ends up being a 3rd stringer who only gets 4 starts would be great. (Trey Lance II)

Hypothetical, but not very reasonable. :)
Someone might bite! Of course, I don’t want it to be us.

I think the kids going to be a star but, the cost is insane.

I just don't see a way the 49ers move to number 2 for Carter. It would cost them a ton just to move from 11 (Which makes 18 out of the question for Seattle.) Cleveland is sold on drafting Hunter so trading with them is out. I get the feeling the Giants are happy with taking the "leftover" which is Carter. I know reports mentioned both teams have taken calls about trading their picks but I feel their asking prices might be too much and want to stay put. At the very least not move that far back without a haul, which is unlikely.

It surprised me that Cleveland actually put it out there in the media that they were listening to offers.

Of course, every team likely discusses every pick…bartering back and forth…

I would’ve assumed they were sticking with Hunter but for the right price, anything is obtainable.

Which is why you put it out to the media. They hope fans push “their” team to trade up to drive up the price. Supply and demand… no demand = lower price.
