I think it’s time that the Seahawks put in Christian Haynes and let him learn the position as an NFL player. He was a high enough draft pick that he should be seeing some significant playing time especially on a line this poor.

I think you are right. It's time to see what the rookie can do. Because Anthony Bradford...

Earn the spot. If he can’t beat the guy in front of him (AB) when that starter keeps making mistakes, well, don’t just give it to him. Pass the eye test. Win the drills, earn the trust and respect of your teammates.

CH, you want the job, go get it. Hopefully, it’s not a heavy leg situation where he is too slow in his pass sets. He’s a thick man.

I'd like Haynes to play left guard and let him develop. I'd also like to allow Bradford to continue to play and develop as well at right guard. We need to remember that as bad as Bradford has played, he is still a young player that has shown promise.
The light bulb comes on at different rates for each player.

Remember that Derrick Hall was not drawing any praise last year nor was Cross. I'd hate to give up on a guy that could develop and be a fixture for years to come.

It is known.

Godspeed, latent development, Godspeed!

I think it's funny that people want Haynes to get some playing time so he can develop. But they want that playing time at the expense of another young player that's developing.

We are an impatient lot. "You've played 13 NFL games. Why aren't you a pro bowler?"

Agreed. Also note that Bradford was a 4th round pick. He needs a lot of development. Considering that the guard positions have been basically turnstiles before he came on board, some continuity there is also needed.

Haynes is still a rook, I am sure he will play when the coaches feel he is ready they do see the 2 of them in practice every day we don’t

I am praying history will not repeat:

Olu couldn't out compete Evan Brown as our starting center. Olu had 5 years of college experience. Evan was really bad

Haynes hasn't out compete Anthony Bradford as our starting RG. Haynes has 5 years of college experience. Bradford is really bad

That could very well be the case. These coaches have more riding on the outcome than us as fans . I'm pretty sure they have good reason to play who they're playing.

It’s not a good sign he can’t beat out Bradford. But I think it’s wasting his growth to have him sit.

It’s a little perplexing with the issues at guard that he hasn’t played. Makes me wonder if there something going on behind the curtain?
The something behind the curtain is probably the rookie guard not being ready to start just yet, honestly.

Most of the issues on the interior line are sloppy technique, so I'll trust the coaching staff (with an OC that came up as an OL coach) on who they want at guard while they work through this as a unit.

Fans are impatient, the coaches want these guys to experience success, knowing they have holes they need to fix enables them to build on their foundation, throwing them in not only creates a problem for the player but the other 4 guys on the line as well as the rest of the offense.

Haynes learning curve is sorta flat. Go back and watch the NE game. #64 is in for a series in the 1st half and it was ugly. Beaten 3 plays in a row. The 2nd half series looked better.

I think he just needs more time but it is concerning that he couldn't win the starting job given where he was drafted.
