From what I've seen this year, Absolutely 💯 he's earned RB1....With troubles on the Oline you need a RB that's a one cut & go type and that showed today.... I love Walker, but he's a change of pace RB and you can't deny that fact..

K9 is infuriating when he dances back and forth and loses yards. Sure the OLine hasn't been A+, but Charbs proved today that he's leaving yards on the table. K9 can fix his problems if he trusts the gaps. He has to fix it now if he wants carries. Today may improve the run game in several ways.

Maybe Charbonnet is simply a better gap runner. Today, he had 5 zone and 16 gap.

The highest rating game from K9? Zone running.

Actually Walker should improve in a gap scheme I think but Charbs deserves a ton more work moving forward.

The line got a little more push today, and Charbs took advantage of it. Great performance today for him. But K-9's got that breakaway thing which is pretty darn exciting. Also, he's had nowhere to go on like half his runs this year, so inept the OL has been.

They showed a graphic during the game that coming into today our RB's are getting tackled behind the line of scrimmage on nearly 52% of our rushing attempts. That goes for both Walker and Charbs. To me, that is awfully indicative that the biggest issue has been the OLine getting pushed back and/or allowing penetration, far more than an issue with the RB's.

I think the OLine was much better with run blocking today than they've been most of the season. I also think Charbs played like a bonafide stud today and deserves all the praise he's getting for taking advantage of that much improved run blocking.

I very much doubt Charbs takes over the RB1 spot though. As awesome as he was today, it's only 1 game. Making decisions purely over a single performance would be very bad process in my opinion. If we start seeing Charbs play like this on a more regular basis then I think there's a conversation to be had, but right now, not so much.

It's crazy to me how flimsy fans can be. One minute Charbs isn't even good enough to be the water boy, next minute he should replace K9. How about we just celebrate we have two great backs and keep on kicking ass with them?

Man…didn’t know Charbonnet had that in him.

We’ve got to trust that the coaches know better than we do as to why K9 is #1.

But, my preference for a #1 back is a guy that can move the chains.

20 carries for 100 yards…with the longest run being 10 yards is a lot different than 20 carries for 100 yards with the longest run being 30 yards.

One thing is for certain…having a discussion about which back to start isn’t a problem…it’s a blessing.

This thread was started by yours truly in Aug this year, and Charbonnet finally took advantage of his opportunity today.

That makes me one happy man.

Charbs wasn’t bad at Michigan but look at everyone he was behind.. but he definitely wasn’t going to shine there and I get why he transferred to UCLA where he could shine.

Breakaway thing, like a 51 yard run?

Charbonnet has plenty of speed.

They have a couple of different skillsets. Charbs can't do what K-9 can in terms of explosiveness/breakaway speed.

I noticed they Charbonnet sometimes punishes the defense. When the opportunity allows, he ran straight into the defense player trying to stop him.

With Charb as RB1, he could potentially wear out the LB by 4th quarter?

The run blocking was so much better. McIntosh was getting great yards too. I think Walker would have feasted if he played.
