How do you know when it works though? Just because a kicker misses it doesn't mean it was because of the timeout. On the other hand we know for a fact with this game icing the kicker is precisely why we lost.

I agree with those saying icing the kicker is stupid. Pointless exercise. How many times have you seen a kicker mess up only to get another go because the coach called a time out?

Let him kick it. If he makes it he makes it. Kudos to him.

I don't have an official stat in front of me.. but I believe the percentage of kicks MADE after the so called icing is so much higher than the percentage of kicks missed.

My biggest issue with the timeout is this.. this is a franchise that had this giant monkey on its back.. they just pissed away a 20 point lead in 14 minutes.. you don't think that whole team wasn't GRIPPING in that moment?

Giving Bryant a practice kick is dumb. Pete messed that one up

the fact that he was even in field goal range should be the issue. . . . . . terrible coaching across the board today.....awful.

I have no problem with icing the kicker. The problem was the practice kick. On Sportscenter last night they said the home team kicker statistically hits 8% fewer kicks being iced.
