Yeah, I forgot to mention that as well, HawksSoc. It's twice as easy for a Panther to become a captain, to boot. I wonder if they have six just so they could get Cam to be one? Hahaha. Anybody know how many captains the Panthers have had each year going back to the year before they drafted Cam?

It's an interesting area of the league, how many captains and why etc, this article shows alot of the team's captains from last season. It seems Seattle's three isn't unheard of, but does seem to be less common then the 5-6 range. The Steelers only had two.

Don't agree at all with all the Red hate...I mean yeah when he first got here and before they found a place for him in the defense he was pretty invisible...but he has been a good player for this team...probably overpaid at this point and will see what happens with restructure talks after this year....I will give you one thing, you are a model of consistency. You have hated and showed that hate for Red at every opportunity for a good amount of years now.

lol...just a mild disdain? a casual contempt? all tongue in cheek? I do remember him always saying bad things about red when he was first here....I'm not able to lurk here as much as I used to though.....well crap..after thinking about it now...it might have been that one guy somethingmatt with all the red bryant negative posts, although I was sure it was Tech Worlds because he used to have that avatar of the guy in the ski cap and shades and was sure that was where I saw it.

Well Cam walked into a team with 11+ year vets being Captains on offense. Gross and Smith were on this team when we went to the Superbowl in 2003 when Cam was a freshman in high school. They were captains long before Cam got here. Anybody that knows the Panthers and have ever been to a Panthers game or Practice knows that when Cam speaks everyone else shuts up and listens. He had to really earn his C it was given to him by default because nobody else on the team deserved it like RG3 in Washington. Make jokes all you want but there is something to be said to respecting veterans such as Gross and Steve Smith two of the best to ever where a Panthers uniform.

No need to look it up the Panthers have always had 5/6 Captains.
