What's crazy is that Young might be the biggest bust ever, and it has nothing to do with work ethic or off-field problems. He's just bad.

He's very short and frail .. Why even try a QB that size in the NFL?

Young's footwork is bad and that is why he is really off with this throws. We will see if Canales can fix this.

JaMarcus Russell was also the #1 overall pick despite tons of red flags, and he was nothing but a complete disaster.

Ryan Leaf was a complete disaster too, but he was the #2 overall pick. Does that make it a little less bad? I don't know.

Trey Lance was the #3 overall pick, but (and this is a pretty huge but), the 9ers traded 3 first round picks to trade up for him. That kinda seems worse than just using the #1 or #2 overall pick for a massive bust. That's a lot more opportunity cost flushed down the toilet for a huge bust.

And yet the 49ers somehow struck gold with Mr. Irrelevant. 🤮
