Thats a lot of money, especially when we don't know if he's only good in this scheme or not.

The Bears get a leader with multiple position success and considerable understanding of Karl Scott's / Mike Macdonald system. Makes a lot of sense to bring proven leadership to the Bears backfield.

It had to be an outside team with such a need.

3 yrs $40mil? Walker was 3 yrs $45 mil? To much buckaroo's........I'll take the saved $$ and the comp picks. Its all about value, and these guys just aren't worth that. Love em, just not worth it.

Just a friendly reminder not to get too excited about comp picks until after FA ends, because I'm not sure JS+MM is going to wait until the Monday after the draft to start signing players

I always felt like Bryant was better than expected. Football IQ was his calling card. I expect him to help the bears a lot. Can’t blame him for taking the money, but if he had stayed, I think he would have become the absolute best version of himself.

im feeling gutted today. we just seem to be losing everyone and getting nothing. i know its short sighted because we dont know what the replacements will be yet. But Rams, Bears, and Niners i feel all got better and we seem to have gotten worse. thats the main competition going into next year. now i know you have to set up the future far beyond next season and i wouldnt pay what these players are getting but to me a repeat isnt looking probable at all at this point.

The only way so stay competitive is to draft well, make smart trades and get value for select free agents. What has happen so far happens every year with desperate teams over-paying in hopes of grandeur which almost never comes to fruition.

Thank you for the level-headed comment. Maybe it will balance out with some of the emotions.

Sucks losing guys. But these losses are inevitable if you want to stay on top. Coaches do their thing in the summer. Players do their thing in the fall-winter. JS does his thing now. Its a cycle of excellence, and now we just sit back and watch John show the rest of the NFL on how to do it. So chill the fook out, it'll all make sense in a couple months.

Yeah - I think we will reload with some new talent in the draft. I liked Bryant’s instincts and what he did for us in the back end - but the emergence of Okada and Emmanwori this year made me not question this staff or JS one bit. I’m sure we have a plan in place.

Meanwhile the Rams are dropping almost $200M deals for 2 corners in the off-season in McDuffie and now Watson. You think they’re freaking out about covering JSN for the next decade? Ha!
I hate the Rams and can’t wait to beat their asses
