Defense needs to look in the mirror.

We gave them statistically their poorest offensive game in the first game and stepped up the last few drives when it matters.

The rams are an offensive juggernaut, no one has stopped them. Stafford is likely mvp for a reason.

Might be no sacks but Stafford will be sore as hell today, got absolutely crushed a few times.

And lets not forget that we lost 3 of our DB's during this game!!!

Bryant
Emmanwori
Woolen

This had to play a factor in all the yards we gave up but still, the guys stepped up when it mattered in the 4th and allowed our offense and special teams to find their footing to get back into the game!

Complementary football guys!!!

Not every facet of our team is going to be 'lights out' each and every game!

I'm just happy that we have that 'don't quit dawg' in all 3 phases of the game!!!

They hired Macdonald to match wits with Mcvay and Shannahon and so far, it hasn’t looked good
Can't agree at all. When I think back to those 2 offences running circles around Pete's offences the last few years, it's been totally different. Especially once we made the trade to bring on Jones and got rid of Dodson and the other LB who's name I can't remember last year.

Rams loss in Seattle last year - they controlled the Ram O most of the game. It was multiple Geno turnovers including a 100 yd pick 6 that lost the game
Won in San Fran holding the Niner O to low 20s. When's the last time they did that?

This year- held the Niners O in check most of the game. McCaffery under 4 yds YPC. Lost due to a late game turnover and 2 bad plays by Woolen

First Ram loss this year. Held Stafford in check. Lost due to 4 picks by Darnold.

Last night was the aberration since MacDonald has been here, not the rule.

You mean when the rams went straight run, run, pass, punt 3 possessions in a row? Loved it.

Why? Because Rams were guilty of doing what we normally do. Took their foot off the gas when they thought they had us down two scores. And all I can say is , thanks dummies. See you in the NFCC. 👍
And we went stop stop stop receive the punt

The D really stepped it up imo in the 4th. A few shots on Stafford to get him off his game and considering the secondary was decimated they mostly held in there. Stafford did not look like the same qb. I think he was hurting. Even if the game was a loss they wouldn't of been the reason for it.
I think that nasty hit on him by Nwosu got him thinking a bit.

Also worth mentioning, the Rams got the chance to pile on yardage because we had a tendency to win with big plays rather than long drives.

* A 46-yard screen to Walker
* A 55-yard TD run by Walker
* Shaheed's punt return

That's a lot of TOP handed to the Rams for the best reason possible - we scored quickly several times. That's usually the reason that teams have 500+ yard days on offense - it's a shootout. The opponent has a lot of big plays and/or commits a lot of turnovers yet stays in the game and has to be beaten in Q4. In our case, both.

Now, looking at the quality of our defense on those drives, I ain't gonna argue that we got beat like a rented mule. Drake Thomas in particular got badly exploited.

In the end despite the Rams eating the D's lunch for the first 3/4 of the game that same D came up big when it counted. The Rams are a damn good team and hard to to slow on O, the D eventually figured that out.

If the defense was going to crap the bed for any game, I’m disappointed it was a divisional game with so much on the line—with that being said, Seattle, managed to get the win and the defense was able to make some critical stops and complementary football came back.

I hope this was the last time this season that this defense plays so badly.

We may be in first place and all that good stuff, but, “the jobs not finished!”

Still need the pedal to the metal and all gas, no brakes!

Bryant, Woolen, and Nick E. got hurt during the game. That pushed Pritchett into play. Rams took advantage of a depleted Seahawks secondary and still lost.
This. You lose three fourths of your starting secondary and still win against one of the best teams in the league? I'll take that every time. But if we meet the Rams again in the Playoffs, and we probably will, we need a better plan for Puka. Witherspoon would probably be the closest we have to a press corner, but he is smaller and I don't know if he would last the whole game when he gives up several inches and 30 pounds to the guy. Woolen has the ideal size and speed, but isn't particularly physical, which you need to be to Press Nacua. Jobe is out there doing yeoman's work, but he clearly isn't up to the task play after play.

There were a lot of comments during the game about the defense being gassed. In Macdonald's press conference this morning, he called out the strength and conditioning coaches, said that the defense still had gas in the tank late in the game.
