It appears that Bruce is being brought in to spell Uchenna Nwosu, who is playing waaay too many snaps.

Per Pete's presser, sounds like this move was also done in response to the Darryl Johnson injury.

And in 'spot for some kid looking for a break' news, Cullen Gillaspia was brought up onto the 53-man.

I like the signing. Im not expecting anything but a situational player irvin can switch of with taylor on run downs.

Be so nice if A) he's right and B) he can help.
If Bruce's right, it would be Brooks not calling or reacting correctly, and he being the QB of defense, has not been chewing on guys that played without discipline. Coaches can yell at guys on the side line but only Brooks can yell at guys in between downs.

Sounded like Bruce could have something to offer as an infield yeller and chewer.

Curious to see how he fits with the 3-4 (with the seahawks) I think he played with the bears in the 3-4

Love Bruce. He can bring some swagger back to this team.

He was also teammates at WV with Geno Smith. So if he helps turn around the defense, we all become Mountaineer fans...?

Indeed he did, with Desai, I believe, so I think the learning curve isn't going to be big, it'll just be making sure he's in 'football' shape not just 'conditioning' shape.

Welcome home to Bruce. I have high hopes that he will be a mentor to our defense as well as having an on the field impact. Similar to the way Adrian Peterson had an impact on Rashaad and the running backs.

Maybe the Seahawks could also hire KJ Wright to just stand on the sidelines and scream "SCREEN" at the appropriate times...

I just bought a new Bobby Wagner jersey on eBay...$55 for the $130 model. They are still out there...

Irvin stated today, I believe, that being in this defense with Desai last year he's noticed that Seattle's front had been lacking in communication. There's apparently a lot of adjustments and shifting of strength from side to side depending on offensive alignment and pre snap movement. Everyone needs to be on the same page so the backers are all attacking correctly.

If he can help shore up that lack of understanding and communication and still set a proper edge, then I'll be happy as hell to have him in the rotation.

So, "We talkin about PRACTICE (squad)... not a game, not even a real game, we talkin about PRACTICE squad!"

Our D couldn't be much worse, so what can it hurt?

Nah. He can execute the concepts. The team is hurting on the edge and a guy with SAM experience can be crucial here. All the guys who can set an edge successfully keep getting injured. We know Bruce can, as a part timer if nothing else.

If he wants to be here, then I'm all for that
thats just it, he cant set the edge to save his life, Dude is washed up and was never good when he was here. The desperation is real

Uh, okay.

No, but okay.

He played an extremely similar role very well for years here, as a SAM in Seattle's 4-3 under (they also ran bear fronts) and then moving around the league.

He can set an edge fine and has proven as much.
