Can't hurt, Seattle's defense is bad, can only go up from the bottom.

Can we just get the LOB back, and maybe some guest celebrity cameos. May as well have a good time in a bottom of the barrel year. I'd pay top dollar to watch Jack Black lining up on the DLine, just sayin talking smack. Who yall got, let's get it going. Jables baby!

I'm sure it is. Man knows how to set that edge. He's not gonna run a 4.3 flat anymore, but he'll be competent and help the young dude
Heck if he can run 4.65, he is still quick enough for the position. If he is a 4.9 sec dude now, he better have genius level football IQ. One good thing about Bruce, he is vocal and loud, may be he is just the right dude in defense meetings, or LB meetings. Someone that fire at will, and do not mind a push back.

He couldn't cost a lot, this is a why not kind of move. His major contribution may be in the meetings and locker room.

I'd be fine with 4.9. I gotta presume he's here to help set that edge over much else.
There are LB with 4.9 sec speed but still contribute to their team success, on the other hand, we have Barton, who was 4.64, but seldom arrive at the right spot at the right time.

Oh, for sure. Luckily, we know that Irvin's instincts aren't as suspect, and can at least expect that he'll mainly be playing on-ball like he's experienced in doing as a SAM.

The strange part of signing Bruce instead of KJ, I think KJ has higher football IQ than Bruce, although Bruce was and probably is still more athletic.

Yeah, true. Bruce's injury is what forced their hand into moving KJ to SAM in 2020, where he played an on-ball role like a Mafe or Irvin would play now. Couldn't believe how well he did.

I am sure that Bruce can still move and tackle. But more importantly he can bring some veteran experience to the young players and maybe even help our young DC.
Please bring back KJ!

Wow over reaction much in this thread. He was signed to the PRACTICE squad! Insurance!

Maybe he sees some action but if he was going to be starting any time soon they would have signed him straight onto the active roster.
That's true, but it's the visual that this signing represents makes me shake my head in disbelief. Irvin will turn 35 in less than three weeks, and he couldn't stop a runner when he was 24. Is our defense so bad that it makes this guy at his age appear as if he might be able to contribute to it?
