thats just it, he cant set the edge to save his life, Dude is washed up and was never good when he was here. The desperation is real
First off numerous times he’s stated they played him out of position. 2nd your negativity really sucks ass. And contrary too what you think for a position he wasn’t used to be played fine.

BI will be used more on 3rd down passing down he’s probably the best cover 5 tech/Edge/OLB we’ve had this century in terms of coverage. And plus he’s a junk yard dawg and brings a little swagger back to the squad

Why was he playing out of position?

Man, I just don't think we've watched the same guy play football. A lot of people have that preconceived notion about him after his rookie year at Leo but nah, he did just fine as a SAM here, and elsewhere, that's exactly why teams keep signing him. Fits almost every scheme in the league and can do multiple things.

Uh, okay.

No, but okay.

He played an extremely similar role very well for years here, as a SAM in Seattle's 4-3 under (they also ran bear fronts) and then moving around the league.

He can set an edge fine and has proven as much.
C'mon man, Chukar is waaay smarter than Hurtt, Desai, Carroll all put together. LOLOLOL
I'm not saying that he doesn't know what the EXPERTS are doing, I'm saying that he doesn't even SUSPECT what the EXPERTS are doing.

That preconceived notion may go back earlier than his rookie year. I think some may still be hanging onto anger over the draft pick. The draft "experts" said he was drafted too early. A lot of fans were not happy about the pick and clung to their initial assessment long after Bruce had become a valuable addition to the team. Inflexible minds struggle to adapt to new information.

He had kind of a bad rap coming out of West Virginia I think he bitch slapped a guy that was out delivering sandwiches one time and got into some trouble so a lot of teams backed off but I’m glad we picked him up. His veteran experience especially in the Locker room comes at the right moment

We gotta stop with the baseless negativity. Bruce Irvin has never not been a decent to good player in this league. Hating on him made no sense at all.

He was newton's kryptonite.

I just don't get why so many people decided to outright slander Bruce. He rocks! As you said, he gave people fits. Versatile on the field, beloved in the locker room.

I just cannot fathom being the type of person that'd see Irvin signed and be like "oh yeah? well, he doesn't matter!"

It's lunacy

THAT is what makes the Seahawks the Seahawks. And it's why, win lose or draw, in my opinion, what PC and JS have built here... I'd rather have it then the Pat's multiple championships.

I almost converted my mom into a Seahawks fan. She was pretty close. Close enough to get frustrated during the Seahawks-Giants game in 2017, turn off the TV, and organize a kitchen cabinet before going back to watching the game. Among the things that I think helped her like the team more were the story of the handwritten letters from Schneider to all the players on the roster and the story of the rugby-style "Hawk tackling" and how, instead of using it as a competitive advantage, Pete Carroll and the Seahawks made instructional videos to teach the rest of the league how to do it because it was safer for the players than other tackling techniques.

This team has a unique culture, and it's something of which we as Seahawks fans can and should be proud. The presence in training camp and at games of former Seahawks who played for Carroll tells me the players see it as something special too.

To be fair, I love Bruce, but I remember being gutted we traded down then missed out on Fletcher Cox, who I remain certain was our intended target
