Thanks for posting, Baldinger is just saying everything that’s been said on this forum for a couple years now. Interesting, frustrating, stuff.

This is really embarrassing to watch. If it wasn't for Wilson's ability to escapse it'd be even worse. Move him back to RG or something and let someone else play RT.

ahh so they get a pass, hmm not sure how you can get a pass for blowing rather simple assignments

They don't get a pass, but those things are correctable as they develop continuity, Pocic gains some experience, and Joeckel overcomes the rust. Overall, the line played its best game in at least two years. Cherrypicking four mistakes doesn't change that.
If these two clowns remain on the staff we may well find out just how straight garbage it will be. And it may happen without RW because he may not survive.RCATES":32iwc6vu said:Cable and Bevell will ultimately cost PC his job. These clowns should have been fired 2 years ago. Without RW this offense would be straight garbage.

Pretty sure I read that he had his best game as a pro Sunday.....
You read that from PFF, the same group that missed at least two pressures allowed by Pocic (#1 is shown in the first clip).
I'm not defending our OL, exactly, but I am about done with Brian Baldinger. No national analyst wrings his hands or takes a team's struggles so weirdly personally. He's been doing this all season.
He also isn't using any context. Ifedi is bad. Tobin is bad and not a starter. Pocic is a rookie. Brown hadn't practiced all week. That pretty much explains most of what you just saw on tape, yet it gets no acknowledgement from Baldinger. That makes him an Ifedi-level analyst.
It's yet another example of how blaming "the line" is a reductive and useless waste of words. Call out the correct people for specific things. Don't just blame "the line". That includes Brown and Britt.
I'm sorry, they get paid how much? They practice these things how long? And they've been playing this game all their lives? The 49ers didn't need to have a good game to look good against that crap. No opponent needs to have a good game for this. This is a repetitive performance that has been going on for the better part of two years.AgentDib":lohup0as said:It's easy to pick a couple of the worst plays out and criticize them with mock outrage. We had a couple of ugly plays on Sunday for sure, but what is the context? How often did we screw things up compared to other teams? How did our play compare to our earlier games this season?
Personally, I thought the Hawks OL played perhaps their best game of the year despite a couple of mistakes. Russ had a lot more time than Beathard did at any rate. As fans we place credit or blame on our own players and never consider that the other team has their own good and bad performances.
