I actually agree with the 'bench Ansah' part. I'm done with that experiment. I think I'd rather see Green and even Collier in there over Ansah.

Ansah is reaaaaaaaaaaally bad this year. Clowney has one pass rush move, gets doubled, and accounts for like 30-40% of the pressures this year. Ansah is a waste of a roster spot at this point.

Nick Perry is still available as a free agent. He couldn’t be any worse than Ansah and might be an improvement.

I forgot Greene was even on the team until that fumble recovery today. Looks like a swing and a miss on that third rounder.

Green isn't any better than Ansah. He isn't sitting on the bench; he's out there same as Ansah, and he's doing nothing. Don't get fooled just because he got a nice bounce right in front of him on one play this year.

I would actually agree with this idea. He would come cheap and you could cut Ansah and save money. He is doing nothing to help the run or pass rush at all.

To be fair, almost all the draft "experts" saw Green as a developmental prospect with massive upside, but that upside might not start being seen until years 2-3 at the earliest.

A guy who hasn't had training camp or played in a game in over a calendar year? Doubtful.

There is a reason a bunch of teams worked out Perry and no one signed him.

If I remember correctly Ansah has incentives for simply being active -- I wish they would just cut him and stop wasting cap.

So much this, he has a lot more upside because he's only 22 but Green is not a LEO (not athletic enough).

Green got the strip fumble sack on Dalton in game one to seal that game. Also recorded a sweet sack on Kyler Murray in open space in the Cards game. He is presently tied for the team lead in sacks among DL players on the team. With fewer snaps give him a shot. Has to play better than Ansah.

What does Carroll see in Ansah at this point? Anyone?

Whether he's not healthy, or just sucks, he's not getting it done. Pete will stick by assistant coaches, but tends to reduce snaps or bench underperforming players. So what does he see in Ansah? Interested to see if Green gets more snaps against SF.

Would've loved to get Robert Quinn from the Dolphins for a 6th rd pick this past off season.

Wonder why the Seahawks weren't interested with the pass rush being such a glaring need?

I've been as disappointed as anyone else in Ansah's performance so far this year, but to say he sucked in the past or that it was foolish to sign him reeks of 20/20 hindsight to me. These notions not based on facts.

Up until this year Ansah's pass pressure rate has been better than Clowney's every single season, usually by a lot. And better than Frank Clark's every season but one. Last year, on limited snaps, Ansah was still getting league high pressure rates.

Injury risk? Sure, but keep in mind Ansah has played a higher percentage of his games than Clowney has through their respective NFL careers.

This tweet from Kapadia shortly before Ansah was signed pretty much summed up his appeal after trading Clark:

The real question is what happened? I suspect Ansah is still not 100% healthy. I'm sure we'll find out more over time.

This was what i was going to say, somethings not right with him physically. I can promise you he's the best pass rusher we have at the moment were just gonna have to hope whatever is slowing him down gets fixed.

Ansah was clearly not trash. They took a shot, it didn't pan out. He's clearly playing hurt. They had a need, it didn't work out. Barring a big turnaround, he truly hasn't done much of anything. Bummer, I was expecting a lot more.

Cutting Ansah only saves money if someone claims him on waivers. After the trade deadline even vets are subject to waivers. If no one claimed him then we owe him his full salary for this season since he was on the roster day one. We would, however, save money on incentives against next year’s cap.
