To be fair, almost all the draft "experts" saw Green as a developmental prospect with massive upside, but that upside might not start being seen until years 2-3 at the earliest.MontanaHawk05":2ejor4u6 said:Green isn't any better than Ansah. He isn't sitting on the bench; he's out there same as Ansah, and he's doing nothing. Don't get fooled just because he got a nice bounce right in front of him on one play this year.

Up until this year Ansah's pass pressure rate has been better than Clowney's every single season, usually by a lot. And better than Frank Clark's every season but one. Last year, on limited snaps, Ansah was still getting league high pressure rates.
Injury risk? Sure, but keep in mind Ansah has played a higher percentage of his games than Clowney has through their respective NFL careers.
This tweet from Kapadia shortly before Ansah was signed pretty much summed up his appeal after trading Clark:

The real question is what happened? I suspect Ansah is still not 100% healthy. I'm sure we'll find out more over time.
Cutting Ansah only saves money if someone claims him on waivers. After the trade deadline even vets are subject to waivers. If no one claimed him then we owe him his full salary for this season since he was on the roster day one. We would, however, save money on incentives against next year’s cap.kf3339":15kgibp5 said:hawkfan68":15kgibp5 said:Nick Perry is still available as a free agent. I would actually agree with this idea. He would come cheap and you could cut Ansah and save money. He is doing nothing to help the run or pass rush at all.
