Everyone has their opinions on music. He's one of the most popular artists on the planet. Not my kind of music, but I can appreciate his success. Just because WE don't like his music, it doesn't mean it sucks. It's HIS art, like it or not. I never understood the hype for Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Coldplay, several country bands, etc. But I can still appreciate the longevity and success.
No, it sucks. It's like going to an art museum, some of the junk passed off as art is objectively pure garbage.

Bad Bunny is the Ed, Edd, n Eddy of music. It's pure brain rot. If you enjoy his music the only thing I can do is pray for your soul

You can turn the channel; that's always an option. I never said I enjoy new music, I don't. I couldn't name one song by BB. But, AGAIN, change the channel, CHOOSE to listen to something else, instead of folding your arms and kicking your legs in the air. There's a reason I rarely listen to the radio. It's your OPINION that it's garbage.
FFS, the whining about this is pathetic. Get over it or change the channel. CHOICES.

It's a HALFTIME SHOW, nothing more. The GAME is what matters. PERIOD.

I never watch the halftime show. The show is for non-football fans.

That being said, the ignorance on this board is hilarious. Bad Bunny just won the Grammy for Album of the year last week. His Most Wanted tour in 2023 played in every major US city and grossed over $200 million. (He sold out everywhere including Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.) He's been on SNL. And he is American, even if he performs mainly in Spanish. He is immensely popular here in the U.S.

Fine

Bad Bunny is a prime example of what's wrong with music today
Yeah yeah, we all think musical perfection was achieved by our generation, despite our parents telling us that what we liked was "garbage" and "everything that is wrong with music today". Music evolves. This guy puts out stuff that makes a lot of people happy, and letting them enjoy what they like, as I was allowed to with the music of my day, won't stop me from constantly listening to the same 30-year-old music that reminds me of a simpler time.

Ima gonna go out on a limb here, and say the demographics on .net aren't in the ballpark of today's music. That's fine. Let Bunny do Bunny.

And let the Hawks do the Hawks, baby!!!
100% this.

He is popular - clearly - and he may also be talented as well - I have no idea and I'm guessing this will be the first and last time I encounter him or his music.

I wanted Disturbed for the half time show.

IMO There hasn't ever been a good halftime show. At least not since the marching band days (decades before my time). It's just a gimmick to get more viewership. I did watch Kendrick last year, but was disappointed he didn't perform "swimming pools" which is the only song of his i like. All other halftime shows including the regular season I usually smoke some bowls, take the dogs on a walk, take a dump, get more food and its almost time to kick off again by then. I can't even tell you or even guess who performed at our 3 owls. This year im skipping the SB party with my non Seattle born friends and family and we are having a seahawks fan only party at my grandpa's. The last time we were in the owl I had to put up with normal people who blabber during gameplay yet shushed everyone during commercials and half time. Those are the types of people the NFL wants tuning in... they already know football fans are gonna watch anyway.
I agree, “Swimming Pools” is also my favorite song of his.

I’ll watch it…but, I’ve also watched other things that I knew I wouldn’t enjoy.

Small thing….

I have a feeling we’re going to be so amped at halftime that if Emmitt Otter were performing, we wouldn’t give a damn.

I’m not saying he can’t put on a good halftime show and honestly I may never know because I still to this day haven’t watched any halftime shows from our super bowls, but the Prince show was historically great. To compare them (especially at this point) seems insulting to Princes show.
Hopefully politics is kept out of it. Otherwise, why not give him a shot. It may be good.

I am a minority, but I am not hispanic. I also never took spanish as a second language. I've attempted to listen to some Bad Bunny time to time to understand the buzz, but I have a hard time getting into the music when the entire thing appears to be in Spanish. Where as say K-Pop mixes in a lot of english usually in a chorus of a song to help keep people engaged who don't understand Korean. This is the first SB half time show I have very little interest in, will do my best to stay tuned and give him another shot for at least the first song. Worst case, I can take a walk break for 20 minutes and burn off some of the food I will no doubt have eaten at that point of the game.

Drugs and prostitutes make people happy, doesn't mean it's good for them or society

It very well might be an idiotic take, but I think everyone should wait and actually watch the halftime show, THEN judge it. Call me crazy. (P.S., I don't think I've ever even heard a Bad Bunny song before, I'm not some fan of his; or if I have, I had no clue it was him.)
Well seeing as I have zero clue what hes saying in ANY of his songs... you aren't missing anything

NFL does not want to pay artists, most do it to promote themselves for a upcoming album or tour. That and they are trying to appease multiple demographics, the boomer generation of artists have been dieing at a pretty high rate or don't perform anymore, the Gen X and Y have faded or dissapeared for the most part as far as Pop, other then Country many fade as fast as they rise. Or refuse to be on that stage for some reason or another.
People may like his music but a Spanish only performer isn't really appeasing multiple democraphics. I could care less about race or politics involved in it.. and like many here I don't watch the half time show.. but this choice is extremely puzzling to me

Country isn't even country anymore.. its like.. pop country.. or country rap lol

Personally can't stand any of the newer music... maybe they need to come up with something other than a concert?

Im curious as to.. what posts you considered ignorance? Citing the Grammys is kind of hilarious thats like the pro bowl of music
