Watching Super Bowl Live today and Steve Wyche said that watching the Prince halftime show was his favorite Super Bowl memory of all time. One of the co-hosts Mike (not M-Rob) said that “fast forward years from now fans at Levi Stadium will have that same reaction when they think about Bad Bunny”

I’m sorry but that has to be the dumbest take on the Super Bowl I’ve heard far.

It very well might be an idiotic take, but I think everyone should wait and actually watch the halftime show, THEN judge it. Call me crazy. (P.S., I don't think I've ever even heard a Bad Bunny song before, I'm not some fan of his; or if I have, I had no clue it was him.)

I’m not saying he can’t put on a good halftime show and honestly I may never know because I still to this day haven’t watched any halftime shows from our super bowls, but the Prince show was historically great. To compare them (especially at this point) seems insulting to Princes show.

I think the Super Bowl halftime show it’s difficult to find an artist that has worldwide appeal. Whoever the NFL pick for the show some are going to hate the selection and some aren’t going to even know who it is. But, the if it makes people talk about it and who the artist, it fulfills that intention the wants. Bad Bunny, has a global following. He’s been everywhere. He was even a WWE wrestler. If you ever watch Netflix “Narcos” he was also in a few episodes of that show. If not Bad Bunny, I really don’t know an artist that is in their prime, that has worldwide appeal right now. Looking forward to see how this show is. Don’t think it will be Prince or Michael Jackson type show but that’s a hard act to set your standards on, Mike and Prince, are once in a lifetime artists.
Mod edit: Removed something that had potentially political tones. As it this was posted before my warning, and the removed content wasn't itself political this one slides.

Just a warning. If there are even hints of politics in this thread, it will be handled with increased strictness (likely a vacation until after the Super Bowl) and the thread will likely disappear. I have no desire to spend Super Bowl week cleaning up after people not being able to keep their politics in their pants.

What? Prince was a legend, bad bunny is a guy I never heard of until a few weeks ago

Another bad take I heard today, was the MJ in the midday guy, trying to claim Randall Cunningham was better than Russ. I’m no Russ apologists, but that’s a take of a guy who is just trying to have a hot take and make headlines.

NFL does not want to pay artists, most do it to promote themselves for a upcoming album or tour. That and they are trying to appease multiple demographics, the boomer generation of artists have been dieing at a pretty high rate or don't perform anymore, the Gen X and Y have faded or dissapeared for the most part as far as Pop, other then Country many fade as fast as they rise. Or refuse to be on that stage for some reason or another.

Might watch it, might not. I highly doubt it's gonna' be at Prince level. Prince was the best halftime we've ever seen.
Don't know much about Bad Bunny, but dude is clearly massively popular. More power to the guy. Do your thing, people can choose to watch or not watch. All that being said, dude is playing the SB, that's a HUGE deal.

Plus, come on man, the GAME is truly what matters.

The TV was on when Prince had his halftime moment. Mute was in play, and the costuming is so ridiculous to my eye, I just laughed. I remember an all black marching band doing halftime, it was awesome. I watched and was amazed. Every other SB halftime show, I pay -0- attention. With the advent of Streaming, I watch the first half during halftime show, and live begins about the time that ends.

Bad Bunny who? Might as well get the Mormon Tabernacle Choir out there during half time.

Is that what happened to the other Bad Bunny thread?
