Prince was a once in several generations talent. I didn’t really even like his style of music, but he did it so well, with such energy and passion that it was impossible (for me) not to love.

He may have actually been an alien, sent here to see if the human race was worthy of future study.
Purple Rain and the high-school dance. It was a different era. I've never heard of Bad Bunny. I'm sure the teens will love it. In 6 months no one will remember it. Except internationally, they still like Hasselhof?

Just a warning. If there are even hints of politics in this thread, it will be handled with increased strictness (likely a vacation until after the Super Bowl) and the thread will likely disappear. I have no desire to spend Super Bowl week cleaning up after people not being able to keep their politics in their pants.
You won't have to worry about that from me

I don't really care for Politics that much, never did to be honest.

Where do you think Bad Bunny is from?

Doesn’t really matter. He has a huge international audience. It’s no coincidence that the NFL also wants to expand internationally. I don’t blame them as it will help expand the NFL presence and increase revenues.

Okay, let me be more clear. Keep this thread on comparing acts for the musical and performance (for instance my daughter was a huge Imagine Dragons fans, not my kind of music and they weren't overly talented musicians but I have to admit all the concerts of theirs I took her to were damn good shows) merits. It seems pretty much anything else on this topic leads to the polarized views we are trying to avoid.

Fine

Bad Bunny is a prime example of what's wrong with music today

Everyone has their opinions on music. He's one of the most popular artists on the planet. Not my kind of music, but I can appreciate his success. Just because WE don't like his music, it doesn't mean it sucks. It's HIS art, like it or not. I never understood the hype for Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Coldplay, several country bands, etc. But I can still appreciate the longevity and success.

The Rolling Stones aren't American. Were there many complaints when they did our first SB?

You do know that isn’t what this thread is about right? I was simply saying that it shocked me that anyone would compare a show that hasn’t happened yet with one of the greatest Super Bowl halftime shows ever.

I fully understand why the league would want to bring in an international star but that isn’t at all the point.

....All other halftime shows including the regular season I usually smoke some bowls, take the dogs on a walk, take a dump, get more food and its almost time to kick off again by then....

Sorry, I can't resist. When I read this, I picture a person squattin' with their dogs on the neighbor's yard, hurking away.
