If they have questions they can gladly see my rule quote lol. Also being it “bounced” and wasn’t forced it wasn’t considered advanced. Iirc I saw where it was clarified on why it wasn’t considered advanced i wish I could remember exactly

It doesn't matter if it was advanced or not, it was a lateral not a fumble so those rules don't apply.

Play till the whistle, basically.

Charb picked up the ball not to be all sportsman-like but did it.....JUST IN CASE.

And voila! "JUST IN CASE" happened.
You can see him on the replay like i said above, lol at the line judge signaling live ball. Then at another angle you can see he’s the only player to not only picked it up, but whole others causally get up and walk away a he jogs to the ball.

Bingo that’s right!

I also feel the rams players or team are questioning it because well.. it causes other to question it, and then its the failmairy all over again.

Whatever, it's not as if the Rams haven't had much more dubious calls go in their favour, recently and in the past.

Sour grapes from them, too bad so sad, call the Waaambulance.

It was a certainly a lucky break for our team without any doubt, but sometimes you need to be lucky to be good.

For sure however the team showed grit and perseverance in coming from behind and MM's big balls decision to go for 2 with approx 3 minutes left in OT was truly gutsy.

For those of you that say Charb didn’t know it was a live ball and just picked up the ball to hand to the refs

Well you are dead wrong

Charb was to be the recipient of that backward pass, he knew that there was a chance that it was a live ball. He knew.

So what that tells me is "Kudos to him for being alert while everyone else wasn't paying attention to the Line Judge".

Yep. And everyone saying he nonchalantly picked up the ball, sure, but one else was even moving towards the ball. He's completing the action he knows is the right thing to do, regardless of the urgency to get there. He didn't need to all out sprint to the ball, no one else was even paying attention. Kudos to Charb for knowing the rules, and knowing to ignore the whistle.

I'm getting annoyed at the pundits who didn't do a little research on the rules before their shows. I get not fully understanding the rule (I didn't before it happened), but don't open your mouth on national media before making sure you're right.

A couple of specific call-outs of Rich Eisen and Colin Cowherd. Eisen especially is usually better than that.

That's for sure. Whoever wins the SB this year will have had at least one lucky break in the playoffs that makes a difference in some way.

I am one of those who believe Charbs had no idea at all if that was a live ball. If he had known, he would have dived on it in the endzone, instead of nonchalantly reaching down and picking it up as if it was dead ball after a play. That's exactly what his body language said to me.

Probably the ball was at his feet. it's what anyone would do.. pick up the ball... just 2nd nature I guess.

It's been what they have been coached since pop warner. Multiple players and coaches have verified that is standard protocol for a loose ball, and they coach it week in and week out.

Still, he had to have had some deep-down training to always pick up the ball, whether out of courtesy or it maybe being live. My instinct wouldn't have been to pick up the ball after a failed play.

His body language expressed that he picked it up because it was there. Nothing more than that. If he had known it was a live ball, or even potentially a live ball, he would have made a display of it if for no other reason than to bring it to the attention of the refs on the field. As it was, it was the ref in the league office who brought it to the attention of the refs on the field that it was in fact a live ball.

I suggest you listen to any of the post game interviews regarding this topic.
