It's the best job in football!
1)RCW isn't going to be worse next year.
2)Sean Payton is going to be very hands-on with RCW and the QB coach is basically going to re-inforce Sean's plans.
3)RCW, obviously (how hard do you think he lobbied for Heap?), had suggestions so hiring a no-name is Payton's first action to take control. 2 and 3 ensure Webb will always have Payton's support.
4)Webb will have access to Elway and PManning as he starts his QB Coaching career.
5)Worst-case: Payton decides to move on from Wilson, Webb is set-up to be a hero on the next guy with no blame for RCW's failure.
There's really very little chance Webb can mess this up. He just has to listen to his boss and refrain from buying into RCW's ideas and he'll be one of the next NFL coaching up-and-comers.
Not a bad breakdown. Payton must have seen something he really liked with Webb that he thought would connect with Russell, to help fill in the HUGE gaps in Russell's game, e.g., reading defenses.
Turns out Webb is a coach's kid, and one of those that always saw himself as a coach after his playing days. Tidbit: da Bills had also offered Webb their QB Coach job LAST YEAR, when he was 27. Webb's lone NFL start, he went 23-40
Actually, this article breaks down what Payton liked about Webb:

You can supply "whatever" email you choose to get past the paywall for the one story.
Another tidbit: Webb was the #3 QB for the Giants in 2017, in a preseason QB room that included Eli Manning, Geno Smith, and Josh Johnson.
Also, with Webb in the QB room, he provides a #3 QB option so the Broncos can carry only 2 QBs. Not sure how the rostering/rules work on that though. It does look like Webb is a legit NFL-backup QB, he started against the Eagles in week 17 and did well enough to keep it to a one-score game, IN Philly, with the Eagles playing their starters.
Should be FUN!
