Shouldn't you be worried about other stuff?

Preparing for the Rams' Thursday night game vs. the Niners (I presume that's what you were referring to) AND making a prediction in response to this thread is pretty low level multi-tasking, so I think I can handle both.

Note: this is the first week I'm picking against Seattle. I still think that they are vulnerable in road games against quality opponents. This week will be a good test of that theory.

Just bustin your chops. Nobody had yet. It's my duty.

I feel like the Hawks can beat anyone right now, BUT I don't think they always will. However, I think that Matt Schaub is not that good, and the Hawks D should be able to really give him hell. I am very worried that the Seahawk offense will struggle similarly however. Assuming they don't start too slowly, I guess I like the Hawks in a slug fest.

I just don't see them moving the ball against us with consistency, and Schaub will throw at least 2-3 interceptions. On offense we will neutralize their pass rush and RW will have a field day with their secondary.

My score:

Seahawks: 31 - 9.

Record to date: 3 - 0. I'm not betting against my team this year at all.

My heart wants the Seahawks to win (as it always does). However, my head is saying they lose a close battle to Texans. Something like a 17-16 game. Seattle OL is the weakest part of the offense. Texan DL is a strength. Watt and Antonio Smith will be a tough task for any OL not to mention a subpar line (which is what the Seahawks have right now). Seahawks struggled against the Panthers DL, well the Texans (IMO) have a better DL than them. Brian Cushing is a factor too and Texans have Ed Reed, Jonathan Joseph on defense. They are a top 10 defense no matter what the stats say. They are playing at home. It's a tough game. I hope the Seahawks win but of all the games so far, this is one I think will be a "L".

This feels a bit like the 49er game to me on defense. Shut down Andre Johnson and their TE and there isnt a lot left to worry about in that facet of the game..so the rest of the D can focus on shutting down their two good RBs.

On offense, we will need to game plan a way to neutralize Watt. One way is to use a lot of bootlegs and draws..another might be to try to run right at him early on and try to get in his head as well as tire him.

More than some others this game will likely come down to game planning I feel.

I also feel we are up to the task and win 24-13.

Looks like the Texans are a little desperate...picking an ex players brain acting like they're gonna sign him, or maybe they do sign him for a game. It's happened before.

Texans show the NFL that they are still the same team, beat the bad teams get blown out by the good ones. Hawks show Seattle fans something they have never rooted for, a team that plays up to their own level every game. Hawks score 4 TD's and a FG. Texans dink and dunk into 4 FG's.

31-12.

Schaub goes back to the dink-and-dunk that gives any defense fits. Their defense cuts our "Lynch, Sideline or Bomb" offense off at the knees. I'm not worried about the 10am road start anymore, but this has all the makings of another nailbiter.

EDIT: With Unger announced out, a magnified weakness of the Seahawks now matches up against one of the Texans' strengths.

I think the game is going to rest on the performance of our D-Line. Schaub has happy feet and does not respond well to pressure. He doesn't have Russells' ability to scramble out of trouble. Coupled with the fact that even if Johnson plays, he's not at 100% so the LOB will shut down the passing game. We grind out a tough victory.

Hawks win 24 -13.

STD: 3 - 0

Aros I love listening to your reasoning. As a fellow fan of 37 years I always feel the same way. Anyway I was going to pick us to lose a close one, but after spending some time on the Houston boards and seeing how down on their own team they are coupled with our Hawk's desire to make an early season statement on the road at 10 am I believe we will win too.

I wish it would be us going away to save me from cardiac arrest but I think we have to sweat this one out.

Seahawks 21
Texans 17 (Houston has the ball last and our D steps up with awesome Quinn scheming so we hold them on 4th and short to seal it.)

Big day for the defensive line. Clem is starving, and ends the game half full.
