From ESPN:

Falcons QB Matt Ryan has given Carroll's defenses trouble in the past. The Seahawks are 1-3 (including playoffs) against Atlanta under Carroll, allowing 26.0 points per game.

Falcons 35-24

the only one of those 3 losses that came against a defense remotely similar to this one was the playoff game. not saying that the defense will just automatically shut ryan down, but I don't think games in 2010 and 2011 really matter as this point

And in the most recent game against us, how did the Falcons do? That means a bit more to me...

'13, right? It would be safe to say we're not the same team either (referring to an earlier remark).

It's virtually the same key Atlanta personnel though. The Seahawks are a completely different team. I mean it's a totally different roster.

It's a pretty worthless stat on behalf of ESPN.

I am nervous about Quinn knowing all the weaknesses of our Defense. Reminds me of Jon Gruden facing the Raiders in the Super Bowl. Just ugly because he knew exactly where to hit them.

The Seahawks surprised me with how they played against the Jets, however, so there is hope. But my gut says Quinn will have a few ideas up his sleeve to exploit the Seahawks. Hope I'm wrong.

Seahawks 24
Falcons 31

My Record to Date: 2-2

I mean, 31 other teams in the league know what we will do on defense. If our scheme was complex and relied on various disguised blitzes and coverages and the like.. sure. But Quinn "knowing us" will be an overblown narrative this week IMO.

I'm actually not that confident going into the game. We're in a good place but so are they. I still kind of expect the win but only after a couple of heart attacks.

I'm going on weather and injuries here, and thinking that we come back with Reed and Wilson close to normal. Lockett sounds like he's still dealing with his knee, but Richardson is pretty good as well.

The forecast for Seattle is light rain and 16 mph winds. It's enough to effect FG's ,but not sure it disrupts the passing game too much. That said, I think it's enough.

Weather worries me a bit as Russ has had issues in the past. Coming off a week of downtime possibly could mess with the rhythm we had. I still think we pull it out as we always seem to do well against offensive passing juggernauts.

Both teams will run the ball and it will come down to TOP. Can we force the Falcons to 3 and outs? Our Pass rush is nowhere near Denver and the Falcons kept Von Miller in check. Their OL is being discounted by fans and I hope our offense can sustain drives to give our Defense some rest. Ryan is a veteran QB and Quinn knows Mike Bennetts weakness. Expect atleast 2 offsides with one occurring in critical time. Beasley vs our tackles will be a problem and we need the RW that throws darts on time rather than holding onto the ball to play hero ball. In the end, I feel our offense will score enough points against there defense to squeeze a win.

I don't think the Falcons are that good, honestly. That defense is a paper tiger.

The only way ATL wins is if the remnants of the typhoon cause Russell Wilson to throw a bunch of picks, which is possible. But nah, we're probably good.

As I indicated in another thread, I had a nightmare last night. This nightmare was merely one that has Russell having a rare poor day, but not one the results in a Seahawks loss or (for heaven's sake) further injury.

Our running game shows up partly out of necessity, and party due to mild moisture/wind conditions, but we do have some success in non-offensive areas that keeps this one well into the W column for the good guys. The defense is our saving grace with some timely fumble recoveries, and I predict a rare ST scoring event as well.

Early Edition!

This is going to be a WHALE of a football game folks. Buckle the Hell up. #1 offense against the #1 defense. Yes, we know how that worked out for us before but this is a different animal. Quinn comes from Seahawk bloodlines and that fact alone cannot be overstated enough in my mind.

The Falcons are smart in setting up shop in the Pacific Northwest all week long. Adjust to the weather and time zone, make those two factors non-issues right off the bat. Acclimate and focus on the task at hand. Impressive.

Our offense should handle their defense at home...This game clearly is about their explosive, prolific offense against our stingy, attacking defense. The winner of that battle alone wins the game period.

The magic number is 27.

If the Seahawks score at least 27 points we will win this game. Weather doesn't effect this game, performance will.

Aros' Fearless Prediction: Seahawks 30 - Falcons 27

Aros' Fearless Record: 3-1

I must remain optimistic about the Seahawks, however; if I remember right, Seattle always comes back off a bye a bit soft or slow, if memory serves me right.

I am going to go bold with this game and say the Falcons lay an egg....
