Nobody is happier than I that I was wrong with my prediction last week. That was one satisfying Seahawks road victory. Spoiling Rodgers home debut, silencing the crowd and those Terrible Towels was a thing of beauty.

I wasn’t surprised to be wrong last week but I would be this week. Baring some unimaginable bad performances and break downs, this should be the lock of the week.

Aros’ Fearless Prediction: Seahawks 28 - Saints 16

Do not pull another New York Giants turd out of the hat this weekend. We need to beat the teams we're supposed to beat this year. I'm hoping for a smack-down game this weekend against the Aints, and then a beat-down against the pretender Cards the following week at that haunted stadium that I wished a giant sinkhole had opened up under and collapsed to the molten center of the earth after that SB loss.

I want to get to 3-1 for the TB game, which to me will be a good barometer game for us against a good team that will give me a better idea of just how good this team might be.

So yeah, I think we crush the Aints.

I thought this would be an easy game, but the Saints played the Cards and the 49ers pretty tough, losing both by just one score. So I think the Seahawks win as long as they don't overlook the Saints, but not by a blowout, 28-20.

Meh, totally different team. Worrying won't make it so.

I was wrong last week!

After starting my popular “Premature Fire Macdonald thread” and then sharing a long narrative about how the Seahawks would lose to the almighty Stealers, I was happy to look like a fool on Seahawks.net yet again.

However, my doom and gloom prediction will come true this week.

The Seahawks can’t seem to get out of their own way at home, struggling to find any success in front of a majority Saints fan base in Seattle. The 12s yet again sell out, allowing our stadium to be taken over, hurting the Seahawks’ players feelings.

Spencer Rattler looks like Drew Brees in this game, eclipsing 100 yards with ease. The O line gets dominated by Cameron Jordan, and Sam Darnold turns into a turnover machine (I did accurately predict Darnold tossing 2 interceptions in the Stealers game, mm thanks).

Alvin Kamara turns back the clocks and does it all in a humiliating home defeat. Some 12s wonder if Lumen Field has become cursed with bad voodoo.

I’ll take keeping Rattler under 200 yards!

And Jordan taking over after blanking Bosa and Watt? Seems doubtful.

The Saints will be 49ers-lite, but we’ve proven equal to that task. Even with a couple turnovers, we should be able to handle the Saints.

This is a potential trap style game for Seattle. They won in Pittsburgh but remember it was very close over halfway through the 2nd half.

Good teams win a number of different ways . They hopefully go out focused and should be able to win at home . If I see a bunch of saints fans in the seats I'm going to be disappointed.

I don't see a Hawks' lull in this game. This team seems early-season-eager to find out how good they are and can be. I think MM has them in the mindset now that it's less about who they are playing than it is about how they are playing. It could very well be close, at least for much of the game, because it's the NFL, and there's not a huge amount of talent separation between most teams, like there is in college ball.

I'd like to see them shut down their rushing attack as much as possible, and force them to pass more than they might like. A fairly early touchdown + lead would be nice. I'd like to see Spencer try to beat a MM defense. That could be fun. But above all, don't gift them offensive possessions, and at least play them neutral on special teams.

Here and there
I had a good feeling that the Hawks wanted to redeem themselves against the Steelers after the Niners fiasco. I think the team slowly gels on both the defense and offense and things are really going to start to take off. Barring any issues with Woolen getting lazy I'm calling a blowout and coming out extremely confident (maybe too confident) that we blow the saints out this week. Darnold I'm predicting will gain some confidence going forward and controls the interceptions..Attention Darnold...don't let me down:

Seahawks 42

Aints. 14

Hawknight record to date: 1 - 1

28-13 Hawks. Feel pretty good about this one. Can't imagine them losing this one.

I thought that last year about the Giants. So it CAN happen, but I would be pretty dumbfounded if it did, and I would start believing somebody placed some serious voodoo on our homefield advantage over the past few years.

There's no real reason why my mighty Saints should win this game and that's why I agree with Jerhawk on the following:

Saints 23
Seahawks 13

The Saints defense has looked fairly solid and has been putting pressure on the QB with Granderson tied for the NFL league in sacks and both Cam Jordan and Demario Davis looking a good ten years younger than their probable current future HOF lock selves.

Spenser Rattler isn't going to go out there and win the game on his own merit, but he is also not going to lose it in the same manner. The offense is still working on perfecting the new Kellen Moore offense and is a tad behind the defense, but making visible strides. Both of the previous games were within reach for the rebuilding Saints and would likely have been won later in the season.

This may be the first win in the Kellen Moore reign with New Orleans on the path to future dominance.
