Are teams playing their best football against the Seahawks because we're supposedly the best? I ask the question after watching tonight's Monday night game. The Colts didn't look like the Colts of last week that beat us. The Titans played a tough game, as did Carolina. Almost forgot about the 9ers, they just suck, period.

My point is, every game here on out should be tough. Teams want to beat us extra bad feels like.

Seahawks got more preseason hype than any team in the NFL. They are also considered the most "physical" team in the league. Teams are looking at a W over the Seahawks as a badge of pride. A message to the NFL that they, too, are physical.

I don't know how much this really helps teams, but I definitely think they get up for this game more so than others.

This has been my thinking. I recall that the Seahawks used to do the same thing during their mediocre years. They stepped it up (or at least tried) against lauded opponents.

Opposing teams are 0-5 this year the week after facing the Seahawks. I think you all are correct.

They are doing some serious scheming and preparation for the Hawks. All of them. Especially on defense. Each has brought something different in the process. In the case of Indy, they took a few calculated shots deep that paid off along with some help from the Zebras. Against Houston, Niners, Panthers and Titans the staff adjusted well at halftime and the offense eventually found success. Each one of those teams has a highly ranked defense that was focused on the Hawks hype and lost anyways.

I'd like to see US play our best sometime this year. It's a work in progress...

I'd be fine not seeing it until January

The depth on this team is getting us through a rough time. In a few short weeks we will have Okung and Breno back, as well as Miller and Harvin. A couple of those sooner than later.

Hmmmm....The rest of the NFL is in trouble.

What we are seeing is what the Ravens have seen for years. It doesn't matter if they were the champs or not, teams watch the film, see how physical the game is going to be, and try to match the intensity.

Get used to it.

As Sherman put it so nicely to Garcon, you called for the noise, now you got it. Well us Hawk fans have been calling for the noise all these years, now we got it. We'll continue to get everybody's A effort until we either win it or we're knocked out. I for one am loving it.

It's a game between some of the most competitive men in the world. Absolutely they're taking their best shot against us.

Yea the colts looked like ass last night. I was confused. They couldn't drop a ball if they tried against us

What are referred to as "drops" by Luck are incompletions by Wilson.

I think the main thing with the NFL is timing of when you play teams.

The Colts looked at their schedule before the season started and circled the two home games against SF and Seattle, because these were the two supposed top teams in the NFC.........so of course the Colts came out with something to prove.

What you saw last night out of the Colts was the proverbial "letdown" game. Two big home game wins followed by a flat road game against a supposed weaker team.

There's just a ton of variation in how teams play from week to week. In the last three games the Hawks have had two not entirely convincing wins (which are still wins, and worth just as much as any other win) and a loss. Yet they very well could go on to blow out their next three opponents, and I don't think it would be that surprising.

The 9ers lost back-to-back games by a combined score of 56-10. They went on to win their next two games by a combined score of 69-14. They're neither as bad as those losses or as good as those wins.

I think part of it is that after that historic three week run between weeks 14 and 16 last year there were some Hawks fans who assumed the Hawks would just blow everyone out from that point forward. That's just not the way it works though. Heck, I mean, the 6-0 Broncos were only up by two points on the 0-6 Jaguars halfway through the 3rd quarter on Sunday. A couple different bounces and the Jags win that game.
