Are Malcom Smith/Mike Morgan good enough to replace Leroy?

I think we need to draft a Day 2 linebacker. This is year 3 for Smith. You'd think if he had the abilities to be a solid starter on this team he would have replaced Leroy Hill mid-way through the season.

Seems like Smith has made huge jumps this year, but I think we will draft a LB somewhere either way, we could still use some depth there.

It's a question of resources. We probably take a day 3 flier for depth, like Korey Toomer was this year, but I doubt they burn anything earlier on it.

I have no problem with them spending a first on a LB if there is a guy there they love. I don't think LB is an incredibly important position, but as a group, it may be our weakest position on the team. What other position would you rather draft? I guess you could add another depth DL to the stable, but if you want to upgrade a starter, I think your only shots to do it are LB and OL.

Gotta focus on interior pass rush somewhere. If we are dedicated to sending just four, it's got to either get there or put the QB on a time restraint.

I think our LB spot is pretty good. If we were to get Alec Ogletree, Jarvis Jones (pending injury situation), etc, then I say go for it. Otherwise just get a look in the middle rounds and let them compete.

I like what I've seen from Malcolm actually, very servicable.
