Anyone feel like the dawgs are going to feast on the Big ten?

lose to Rutgers? that's brutal
Not only that, they completely dominated that game. 3 missed FGs, yet AGAIN they have 1st and goal and can't score. Blocked kick and a kid runs out on the field, immediately they give up a TD. This should have been a f'ing blowout. Period.

Just like the Apple Cup debacle. Giving away the game. This was even worse.

They look like a totally different team so far against Michigan. Why? They're not constantly committing back breaking penalties.

Welp, 2 more missed FG's, poor clock management at the end of the first half cost them at least a couple more shots at a TD's, and it looks like they've just kind of fizzled out after a really good start.

Still most of the 2nd half left, but they need a spark from someone right now.

Nice win tonight. Shouldn't have been that close against a team that can't throw, but it's good that you're getting more comfortable when you're not cursed to play our perennial conference powerhouses like Rutgers.

Still waiting for those Pac-12 adds to actually make the division better. USC just lost to Minnesota. Oregon's best win was by three-points at home against a Mountain West team. UCLA might not a conference game the entire season.

And Ohio State's best win was what? An unranked Iowa team at home? A mediocre Michigan State team on the road?

They're 5 games into a season in a new conference. What were you expecting or hoping to see out of the Pac-12 adds in the first 5 weeks?

The Big Ten added the 3 strongest college football programs on the west coast in Oregon, USC, and Washington. You genuinely don't see how adding those programs makes the conference any better or any stronger?

Anyway, still waiting for like half of the teams that were already in the Big Ten to make the conference any better. Been waiting for an awfully long time on that one.

I'm a massive UW fan, and I didn't expect them to beat Michigan. Pleasant surprise, and a huge win after handing away the games against the Poogs and Rudgers.

They handed that game away, just like the Rudgers game. But if a team wants to pump their chests out after winning their 2nd apple cup in a 11 tries.....so be it.

You're right, I think I was just being a little exuberant with my fandom. Iowa is complete trash and even winning 35-7 against them last week doesn't feel all that impressive.

Lol, how convenient that you waited until now to respond. Had to see how this game was going to go first. No doubt the radio silence would have continued if this game had gone the other way.

I didn't "wait" to post it, as much as seeing the score made me think of it.

It was difficult to resist after you had talked down our win over Iowa in the first sentence of that last post lol.

You mean like how you talked down the Huskies win over at the time #10 ranked Michigan?

What about my avatar makes you think I'm in the game of talking UP Michigan?

Regardless of your avatar, your post was very clearly talking down the win.

"Nice win tonight. Shouldn't have been that close against a team that can't throw, but it's good that you're getting more comfortable when you're not cursed to play our perennial conference powerhouses like Rutgers."

Sure, no diminishing the win, taking a jab, or mocking sarcasm there.

Michigan averages 115 yards per game passing. They shouldn't be considered a great win for anyone right now. They even lost to a team that was blasted by Iowa.

Ok, cool. Thanks for letting me know that a very flawed, unranked team, in a new conference, with an entirely new coaching staff, and 20 out of 22 new starters, shouldn't consider beating the #10 ranked team a great win.

On the other hand, the #2 ranked team in the country beating an unranked Iowa team at home, a team that averages 140 passing yards per game, is super impressive.

Definitely makes sense to have similar standards for what constitutes a great win for 2 teams in vastly different circumstances.

I was clearly just talking smack; you're making way too much of it, especially in a thread with a title that invites that kind of talk.

Buckeyes have a good test tonight. Should answer some questions. Huskies look like a team destined to play a bowl game that occurs with more than a week left in the calendar year.

Fair point. That is a fairly provocative thread title. I guess that hadn't really occurred to me.

Do they though? Against a team who's best win is by 3 points at home against a Mountain West team? ;)

Huskies look like a team that'll be fortunate to make a bowl game at all this season to me. They've got a sh1t load of issues.

This was me preparing a response:

"I doubt it'll be THAT bad, you still get to play..."

...pulls up UW schedule online.

"Oh, shit."
