I get the feeling he may be trying to soften the blow of us losing a few guys. He knows, or at least has a better idea than we do, of what's ahead. Just my opinion.

His rant is directed at the combine coverage. Don't make too much of it.

He's basically saying that the NFL, ESPN, etc. are all tied together as a giant conglomerate that makes its money on tearing down various athletic traits of 21 year old kids. These kids are viewed in the media as commodities, not people, as soon as they enter the league, so how can you blast a guy as being selfish based on what the media says? Everything they say is merely jargon used to enhance and sell a product.

^athletes are some of the most self entitled people in the world. Don't want to be scouted? Don't play sports in hs. Don't want to be a product and scouted more? Use that FREE college education and get a normal job. Don't want to be under the microscope of all those things? Don't get rich playing football. It's called wanting your cake and eating it too.

He's not bashing the idea of scouting. He's saying the combine is a circus that's put on primarily for entertainment purposes. The measurables that come out of it only tell a small part of the story. I think even most GMs would agree with this. I believe JS even said yesterday that the player interviews were more important than their combine performance.

Good Lord are you being serious?Lol. Oh I'm sorry I stopped worshipping athletes when I was 12. I don't have to agree with everything someone does to be a fan of theirs, that's one of the few parts of this site that is way weird tbh. If I'm not homer enough for you than I'm sorry. But I've been a blazer/mariner/seahawk fan since birth so I'm good.
